Here you can find answers to questions about how the board works. Use the links or search box below to find your way around.

Forum Rules

The Assigned Forum Moderators, who are listed at the bottom of each Forum, are responsible for enforcing the Forum Rules. Please remember that Forum Moderators are unpaid volunteers trying to keep the forums running smoothly so please show them some consideration. When a Moderator takes action in a forum, please do not argue about it in the forum. Instead follow up with the Moderator via a Private Message if you wish to discuss the issue. Most issues with moderator actions can usually be resolved via Private Message. If you still feel the issue was not resolved satisfactorily, please feel free to bring it up with the Administrator or in the Forum Feedback forum. By registering as a member of the Fandom Post Forums, you agree to follow the Forum Rules listed here:

I. General Participation
  1. Forum Administrators and Moderators have the right to edit, censor, delete, move or otherwise modify any posted message.
  2. Failure to adhere to these Rules may result in applicable penalties which can include the temporary or permanent suspension of the member's account.
  3. Participants shall not post any material likely to cause offense, that is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right without the express permission of the rights owner(s), or that contains personal information such as phone numbers or addresses.
  4. All posted messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners of Fandom Post Forums, nor vBulletin Solutions, Inc. (developers of vBulletin) will be held responsible for the content of any message. This web site does not verify or guarantee the accuracy or veracity of the material posted to the Forums or bear any responsibility for any loss, damage, or other liabilities caused by any posted message.
  5. Only one forum user account is permitted per person. The creation of extra accounts is strictly forbidden, except with the express permission of the Site Owner. Violators will have all of their accounts suspended indefinitely.
II. Content Which is Not Allowed The following content is not permitted in posts, profiles, visitor messages, avatars, signatures, blogs or group messages:
  1. Religious and Political Discussions and/or Advocacy;
  2. "IBTL" (In Before the Lock) and "First Post!" posts;

    1. The following are absolutely forbidden

      2. Postings about when new fansubbed episodes, unlicensed streams, or scanlated chapters are available online;

      3. Discussions about the perceived morals of fansubbing, scanlations, etc.
III. Additional Forum Rules
  1. User Display Names: Due to browser limitations, and to ensure that the Search feature works properly, we do not allow non-Roman alphabet character text for user display names.
  2. Forum Avatars: Images should be no more than 100x100 and 20K in size. We ask that there be no outright full-on nudity, religious or political imagery. Larger avatars are available to Site Donators and Subscribers.
  3. Signatures: Please keep your signature to no more than five lines, including blank ones. All general forum rules apply in terms of content. Signatures that contain advertising links will be removed immediately, and the user will be subject to immediate, indefinite suspension of his or her account.
  4. Not Safe For Work: Please either mark your topic with an 18+ tag/prefix or NSFW (Not Safe For Work) disclaimer in the Thread Title if appropriate. Also please mark any links that potentially are not safe for work as NSFW. It helps save a lot of workplace embarrassment.
  5. Treatment of Industry Representatives: There are several people from various media industry companies who frequent this forum. Please be civil and act in a courteous manner towards them.
  6. Bumping: Do not "bump" your thread or repeatedly post in it demanding a response. The sole exception is in the Sale/Trade/Auction forum, where follow-up posts announcing the addition of new items and one new post alerting readers to an approaching deadline are allowed.
  7. Duplicate Threads: Please do not start a new thread on a single topic when a recent thread about that topic already exists. The Search function is there for a reason. Six months is generally considered to be the lifespan of a relevant thread, though we allow members to use their own discretion based on topic or forum. If in doubt, please contact one of the Assigned Forum Moderators for that specific forum for an opinion.
IV. Posting Behavior Guidelines In addition to the Forum Rules, we have also included several tips for posting behavior which we strongly urge you follow when posting. As these points are open to a greater degree of interpretation, we present them as guidelines, but user messages which strongly violate the spirit of these guidelines may be subject to action by the Moderation Staff.
  1. Thread Drift: Please try to remember that others participate in a thread because they are actually interested in the subject of the thread and can find it frustrating to weed through numerous unrelated posts. Although a single thread often drifts into discussion of side-issues, going wildly off-topic is discouraged.
  2. Quoting: Do not quote the world. Take the relevant parts in regards to your reply and cut the rest. Excessive quoting may be edited by a Forum Moderator.
  3. Accurate and Useful Titles: Please make Thread and Post Titles as descriptive and as specific as possible. Ones that are excessively vague or inflammatory may be modified by Forum Moderators at their discretion.
  4. It's a Forum, Not a Blog: While forums are great for a variety of discussions, there are some things that are better suited to a blog. If you want to ramble on about your day every day then the Fandom Post offers a Blogs section.
  5. Spoilers: Please warn or use the spoiler tag when discussing future events in any work, especially during current release topics. If you want to discuss a series without any restrictions on potential spoilers within the thread, please make that clear. You can do so, for example, by including the words "SPOILERS WITHIN" in the Thread Title and/or within the text of the opening post. If you do not, Forum Moderators may do so at their discretion.
  6. Expand, Don't Repeat: If somebody responds to your message, and you post another reply, do not repeat the exact same arguments/complaints. Give more detail, additional reasons, or more evidence to back up your side of the argument. If you do not have anything new to add, there is no reason to reply. "Me too" posts are strongly discouraged as well.
  7. Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire: Avoid calling companies and other people "liars". They might be telling the truth, or at least believe that it is the truth. And remember the "facts" or "promises" that you heard a few months ago might have been only rumors, misquotes, misunderstandings, or your own faulty memory. And with anything in life, things change. What may have been true several months ago may no longer be true due to a variety of circumstances that the company had no control over.
  8. Poo On You: Do not just say "it's crappy". Give actual reasons or examples of what is wrong with it. Back up what you are saying otherwise future impressions of your posts may not carry any weight.
  9. Communicate Clearly: This is primarily an English-speaking forum, so try to ensure your posts are intelligible such that everyone can understand you. We do realize that English is not everyone's primary language, and do not expect perfect language usage. However, a blatant disregard of the language will not be tolerated. When posting text in other languages, please paraphrase it in English for the benefit of others.
  10. Read First, Post Later: Before posting a reply in any thread, it is a good idea to read the entire thread. If you are responding to a question, it may already have been answered by another poster in the thread.
