Anime is not a right. It is a privilege, a consumer product, art, work for hire, a luxury, a hobby, entertainment.

Find me on Facebook and Follow Me on Twitter to see plenty of silliness in the anime and manga worlds and much, much more.

I'm not one that expects a 1:1 adaptation of the novels. That would be foolish when it comes to the Foundation series, particularly the original trilogy. Hari Seldon becoming a mythic hero/prophet can develop from his death from other ways and need not have been a murder by Raych. Dying in the harsh environment of Terminus would not have diminished that. What makes Hari Seldon a mythic hero/prophet status is how generally accurate his psychohistory analysis is of the future and what he started, the galactic encyclopedia, surviving.

Back to Episode 3, it's good that they are filling in the blanks as well as showing us some of the backstory of Cleon 1 and the empire. The concept of the 3 clones in different stages of age and how the torch is passed on is definitely an interesting idea developed. Dawn grows of age to eventually become Day, Day becomes Dusk, and Dusk becomes Darkness. With Darkness to be extinguish by the birth of the new Dawn, the baby.

The episode also explored the idea that whatever our good intentions of Cleon 1 had when he started this whole process of cloning himself forever and his works, these get changed in terms of how it is viewed in the distant future. Each iteration of Cleon 1 has their own characteristics and they are known by their specialisation/interets with Cleon 11 will be known as "The Painter". I wonder what titles Cleon 12, Cleon 13 and Cleon 14 will have.

Last but not least, Demerzel, the cyborg who is there from the start with Cleon 1. She is the last known cyborg in Empire. Protected by her role to guide the clones of Cleon 1. Always there to guide and to implement their wishes. She remembers all of them too. Her tenderness to Dusk (Cleon 11) as he reaches the time of Darkness suggests that she has been doing this for all those that came before - all in the service of Cleon 1 and his clones. She has borne witness to the growth of the empire and to its current gradual stagnation. Will be interested to see how they will develop her story.
