We kicked off our Turkey weekend by nabbing some good deals. I ended up with Mad Men Season 4 BD for $14.99 (ahead of the $8.99 lightning round price point I wasn't going to be able to take advantage of). Also got the final Harry Potter BD for $9 this morning (movie only). Snagged the Lion King BD for $17.99 and made the guilty purchase of Pulp Fiction on BD for $3.99. Couldn't resist that.

Managed to get my daughter the Hunger Games hardcover novel trilogy for $20 instead of MSRP of $60. Been sitting at $32 for an age while watching it. Also got my other daughter Just Dance 3 for the Wii, which dropped to $29.

Gonna take advantage of the three day Comixology sale for Blackest Night now that they've included Brightest Day as well. Can finally finish that series that we started reviewing here earlier in the year.

What have you gotten? What sales do you see that people should know?
Anime is not a right. It is a privilege, a consumer product, art, work for hire, a luxury, a hobby, entertainment.

Find me on Facebook and Follow Me on Twitter to see plenty of silliness in the anime and manga worlds and much, much more.

I picked up Buffy The Vampire Slayer seasons 1, 2 and 3 for 12.49 each on Amazon and will probably get the rest before it's over. Also bought Fast Five on bluray for about the same price.

I bought How William Shatner Changed the World on DVD at Best Buy for 99 cents. To go with the copy of the book I already own.

And people-watching for free, seeing all these people running around with panicked looks in their eyes, sweat on their brow, clutching their items for dear life, shouting to each other across multiple aisles. Lots of fun. :D

I like to go out and hit various B&M stores for their cheap dvds - but I was a little disappointed this year. Prices were better than ever (several places had dvds for $2), but there was an unusual amount of overlap, stockwise. Walmart, Best Buy, and K-Mart had almost the exact same prices on almost the exact same selection of dvds. Some highlights, though:

K-Mart had the first five volumes of the Harry Potter movies on sale for $3.99, in both wide screen and full screen formats. And I saw the first season of Fraggle Rock for $7.99.

Best Buy had Sucker Punch for $3.99, and Casino Royale (the first Bond flick with Daniel Craig) was only $.99.

Target had Mad Men for . . . I don't remember it was either $8 or $12. And I picked up the fifth season of Sex in the City for $8.

On non-dvd news, I bought some nail polish (gift for a cousin) at Hot Topic. It was BOGO, plus another 25% off the top . . .
"The roaring of lions, the howling of wolves, the raging of the stormy sea, and the destructive sword, are portions of eternity too great for the eye of man."

Bought some clothes for my kids online at Gymboree on Thanksgiving. Got the older one a new winter jacket for $18. For another $36 I got 3 tops, 2 pants, and PJs for the kids. Got a Philips Norelco 7310XL for 418 for my dad from Amazon. And got an 18 piece Pyrex storage set for my sister. Earlier in the week Toys R Us had legos buy 1, get 1 half off. Got my daughter 2 big duplo sets and combined it with a $15 off $100 coupon.

Agh! If only I'd read this post 2 hours sooner!! *headdesk* (Also, argh Solatorobo!? I pre-ordered that one and it's still unopened, lol.) Bargain shopping fail for me.

No shopping deals for me; I had to go away and had no internet 'til now. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. Probably won't shop now though, unless some dvd on my Amazon wishlist is on sale or something. I'm afraid to read the rest of the internet at this rate, though.
                Yay! There's debauchery here!

Damned sales tax...although I like that Hastings' rate is lower than the others.

I spent a little more then I should have. The Xbox was the only item I actually waited in line for and that was not bad at all. They handed out tickets for them and the people in line were very calm . Had a nice talk while waiting to be let in from the cold. Arkham City someone forgot to tell the workers at Walmart that the stuff in the video game case was included in the sale and so lucky for me it sat.

Amazon.ca has LOTR Extended Edition Blu-ray for $45. There were also $26 one-day deals on Citizen Kane and Ben-Hur Blu-rays. $13 Limitless and $31 Apocalypse Now (the big set) were also too good to pass up.
