Giant Ape announcements and the Buu arc of Kai. Calling it now. I don't think they'll announce much more if anything in the anime department unless by some miracle they grabbed Heroman or some other major crossover appeal show.

      FUNimation at San Diego Comic-Con
      Tuesday July 16, 2013 at 11:17 am

Tomorrow marks the start of the world’s largest multi-genre comic convention, and FUNimation’s biggest convention of the year: Comic Con International San Diego!

You’ll be able to catch all the latest news and updates at our Industry Panel on Thursday at 5:30pm in Room 24ABC. We’ll also be giving away a ton of free stuff to our fans that come by to see us at our booth in the Exhibit Hall.

Our booth (#4135) will feature our live-action division, Giant Ape Media, and we’ll have giveaways for the Lost Girl TV phenomenon like The Wanderer Tarot card, posters and buttons! But get there soon, because we’ll have limited quantities of each item. Follow the @GiantApeMedia Twitter for details on how you can win these promotion items!

In addition you’ll also have the opportunity to meet Lost Girl cast members Kris Holden-Ried, Ksenia Solo and Zoie Palmer (That’s Dyson, Kenzi and Lauren for those who don’t know). You can also look forward to the Lost Girl: Season Three and Beyond Panel at 7:15pm in Room 6BCF. Read more about what Lost Girl will be bringing to SDCC this year here.

And that’s not all! Our amazing FUNimation Show hosts Jamie Marchi (the voice of Panty in Panty and Stocking, Witchblade in Witchblade, and Liz Thompson in Soul Eater) and Scott Porter (who’s just plain awesome) will be at our booth, and filming an episode of The FUNimation Show throughout the weekend!

Our mascot, OniG, will be available in plushie form for just $25, or FREE with the purchase of $200 and up. Con-goers will also receive a nifty FUNimation decal as a free gift with any purchase. Spend $75 and get a free FUNimation lanyard. All this and more will be available to you while supplies last!

We’ll also be screening a bunch of hot titles. Just take a look at the screening schedule below:
      • Attack on Titan on Thursday at 9:40 p.m. and Saturday at 9:45 p.m. in Room 4

          FUNimation acquires .hack
          Thursday July 18, 2013 at 08:00 pm

Flower Mound, TX - July 18, 2013 - FUNimation Entertainment announced today during their San Diego Comic Con Panel that they have acquired the rights to the follow .hack titles:
          • .hack//SIGN
            - A prequel to the .hack video game/OVA series
          • .hack//ROOTS
          • .hack//Legend of Twilight
          • .hack//G.U. Trilogy

.hack//SIGN, .hack//ROOTS, and .hack//Legend of Twilight were directed by Koichi Mashimo (Noir, Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicle) and .hack//G.U. Trilogy was directed by Hiroshi Matsuyama (director of .hack//The Movie). The action/fantasy .hack franchise follows several young players as they navigate the vast, mysterious role-playing video games set in “The World” – a place, it turns out, that is sometimes impossible to leave.

FUNimation also currently holds the rights to .hack//Quantum, which they released on BD/DVD Combo in 2012.

A little better than I was expecting. Yeah, there's nothing major at this panel (after all, those announcements are likely being saved up for Otakon). However, the company still announces a license rescue at the convention (and given how Sword Art Online is pretty much the big anime title ATM, it's best to get newer anime fans into it's predecessor in terms of shows about fictional MMORPG's).
