Happy to see Sentai may have some big surprises this year also. I want to hear about LOGH release details the most, wondering if the dream of that series being dubbed may come true? Buying it either way though.

That's only seven by my count. I wonder what the 8th one is.

He mentioned My Love Story after, so that probably is the 8th one. We already knew about it. I'm surprised this panel was mostly a bust. Especially comparing it with last year. But more titles getting dubs is a good thing. It would have been nice if he went into the next month's release slate at the very least. Maybe they are holding it for another con. I dunno. They didn't even mention their October slate which is already available for purchase.

                Re: Sentai Filmworks '16 panel

Dub announcements was there big announcement, one of their biggest yet in their own words. Seriously I know you have to hype up your own panel but come on!?

Really disappointing, thats 2 of the last 3 years Sentai have had nothing to announce at the biggest convention in America.

Also those questions!?!?! Always staggered just how many anime fans are out there that don't seem to grasp that the Sentai Filmworks' and Funimations of this world don't actually make the anime they release. Big enough fans to goto a convention, big enough fans to goto an industry panel and yet not aware of who makes the Anime they watch seemingly. Not only that even when the Sentai guy said they don't know if a Season 2 is coming of a series as much as anyone else at lest 3 others asked the same question anyway.

You have to also understand that the average convention goer is in their teens or early twenties. And when you consider how many people go to AX, it's hardly just the super hardcore fans that follow all of this stuff that are in attendance. Those types of questions are bound to happen. I'm more disappointed in the panel itself than the questions, really.

Gate and Ushio & Tora getting English dubs is a good thing. These two series will be Toonami ready when the slots open up. Also, the other titles mentioned getting English dubs means they're popular enough, so I guess that's good.

I'm disappointed that Girls und Panzer announcements on the movie or the Anzio OVA were not made.

                        Re: Sentai Filmworks '16 panel

I knew that there would be a lot of dubs to get announced seeing that last year's summer season was filled with lots of titles worthy of dubs. To compensate for that, Sentai had a light load for the winter and spring seasons. Only the continuing shows were dubbed for the winter 2015 season, while only three shows in the spring 2015 season are getting dubbed (Food Wars, Danmachi, and My Love Story) with the possibility of one more (Triage X, which I don't see happening). ABP, Food Wars, Danmachi, and Gate were pretty obvious, while Ushio and Tora was almost certainly going to get one with the only ounce of doubt being the show's length. Monster Musume had the popularity, but there were also some question marks about it and in the end it's getting a dub. The big surprise is Himouto! Umaru-chan seeing that Sentai has a bazillion slice-of-life comedies like this and just about all of them are sub-only releases, and in the past it would have been an obvious show to pass on dubbing, not to mention Sentai is getting swamped with dubs from that season.
