I've been waiting for this for years, and everyone involved is pretty promising.

Seeing that this is one of the most-requested manga titles to get an anime adaptation that it's not surprising that it's Aniplex is putting this out given their tremendous profile. While Funimation will at least be one of the places it will stream from the look of things, it remains to be seen if anybody else is going to get it as Aniplex is trying all sorts of different things to try and take advantage of their close relationship with Funimation as a result of both being owned by Sony.

I was not expecting this. This means we'll expect a very expensive Blu-ray set from Aniplex.
At least it'll be streamed through Crunchyroll. I'll be waiting

I don't know that it will; it seems like Aniplex has been moving away from their past "put it on every service" approach, and towards keeping their titles only on Funimation. That's what we saw with Kaguya-sama S2, anyway.

I take it this will be like Demon Slayer release? Blu-ray Collectors Edition by Aniplex and regular BD releases by Funi?

It looks like AoA may not be involved with this series. We are starting to see more Aniplex Japan titles with no AoA involvement.

Well, the press release article did say that Funimation is bringing this show over through their partners at Aniplex, but without any mention of Aniplex of America just like with the Gymnastics Samurai. It used to be that Aniplex won't let anybody but Aniplex of America have the home video license, and AoA would only take it if they had control of the streaming rights. But AoA has since changed their business model due to both them and Funimation being owned at the top by Sony. Only time will tell what will happen.
