Do you guys still have the rights for #BeastKingGolion and #DairuggerXV if so can we get bluray release for those as well?

      No gone long time ago

Yeah, that third Dairugger DVD set had very limited stock due to the license expiring and I was lucky to get one of the last copies.

Slightly related... I picked up the first and second sets for Tekkaman Blade fairly cheaply. The third was not as easy or cheap to find however until someone posted it on Mercari for $20.

Does MB still have the rights to the original Tekkaman Blade? A Bluray would be Right up my alley

No gone long time ago. That was a hard license to get. Good luck as you have to go to the actual studio.

EDIT: Mazinkaiser is referring to Mazinkaiser SKL re-release.

Exclusive Interview: Media Blasters CEO on Company’s Reemergence

What new releases do you have coming out?

There’s a ton. We have a lot because we accumulated a lot of stuff when I went on that trip. On the anime side we have Doomed Megalopolis, Grenadier, Ramen Fighter Miki, Girl’s High, Mazinkaiser, Ten Tokyo Warriors, Nana Seven of Seven. Most of those are reissues, but none of them were ever done on Blu-ray. So we’re doing all those on Blu-ray and they’ll all be in HD.

              [...]

When we were kind of dormant, Sentai did a few of ours [anime titles] and so did Discotek. We’re trying to get those back and release a bunch of them. We are trying to get some new stuff, but first we’re trying to get the old stuff.

              [...]

Are you working to get more licensing in the future?

You mean of new titles? Yeah, we will. The problem is right now it feels like we’re back in 2000, in that we have to crawl again. So we’re trying to get a schedule where we consistently release stuff, and then we can do some damage. There’s always more anime, so you have to maneuver and find it. There’s what we call that lost era, when Ladies vs. Butlers was made, where all the anime companies were almost dead and not doing that well. So a lot of stuff didn’t get licensed. I think the brand, brand-new stuff are tough [to get].

We’re seeing an uptick. Everything kind of fell into place where I just happened to go to Japan, I had all these meetings, I got back, and suddenly we’re releasing a ton of stuff. I don’t know, maybe the anime god wanted Media Blasters to come back.

Feeling like it's 2000 is quite an understatement considering how things have changed so much in the past 20 years. At least they are still managing to stay afloat even if they haven't been doing much lately.

Gives me hope for the possibility of Samurai Deeper Kyo and Shura no Toki getting a Blu-ray release some day.

Those will be from someone else is my guess.

No surprise on the former given it's Kodansha.

This is likely more relevant for their live-action titles.

Oh the excitement! With everything going on here with all the 4k transfers being done and plans of maybe even some 4K discs being produced and new media files for delivery. Time to upgrade! #mediablasters #4KUHD

MB is likely referring to Kadokawa. You're starting to see previous Media Factory titles with Kadokawa logo (recent examples from Sentai: MM! re-release, Queen's Blade: Beautiful Warriors / Rebellion re-release, RahXephon).

                          https://twitter.com/mediablasters1/s...51991449997318 (Queen's Blade: Exiled Virgin)
We trying reissue but they will not respond. Even met with them. They do not care of old titles as company changes ownership.

                          EDIT: https://twitter.com/mediablasters1/s...83379024863234
Are you talking about hobby japan or sony?

                          Neither
                          https://twitter.com/mediablasters1/s...87781026652162
                          Is it KADOKAWA?

Every production is done for many years now by committee therefore no one company controls it all.

Does @mediablasters1 still have the license to The Weathering Content? And if so, is there any chance we’ll get a blu-ray in the future?

Sorry no, that would take lots of work.

Out of curiosity, is that because it would require a new HD scan and restoration or something?

No that one was tough to find publishers and not sure can again
                            https://twitter.com/mediablasters1/s...83598248595461
Meaning it’s theoretically possible if the publisher popped up?

In theory chickens have everything they need to fly also.
