Based on the DMM GAMES browser and mobile game of the same name, Bungo and Alchemist -Gears of Judgement- blends history and fantasy this spring on Funimation!

The series follows a group of historic writers (all based on real people) who use their special abilities to rescue books that have been cursed by the “Taints,” an evil force. While its premise is fantastical, the series’ core focus will be on its characters, some of whom you may recognize, including Ryunosuke Akutagawa and H.P. Lovecraft.

From studio OLM (Pokémon, Inazuma Eleven), Bungo and Alchemist -Gears of Judgement- stars Junichi Suwabe (Black Clover, Bleach) as Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Yuichi Nakamura as Dazai Osamu (Dr. STONE, My Hero Academia) and Kamiya Hiroshi (Angel Beats!, Blue Exorcist) as Izumi Kyouka.

Odahiro Watanabe (Tokyo Ghoul:re) will serve as director, with Jun Kumagai (PSYCHO-PASS) on scripts and Yasunori Ebina (Naruto) as sound director.
