While I knew that it was going to sell out pretty quickly given how critically acclaimed this show is, as well as the growing sympathy for KyoAni after the arson attack, I wasn't expecting it to come weeks before its release date. Not after what Shawne said about LE preorders being a way of telling how Funimation how many units for the manufacturer to produce (and hence, the limited part in Limited Edition). I placed my preorder back in early October, so I'm good to go.

I think I remember Darker Than Black 2 Limited Edition selling out before release at RightStuf.

While they didn't sell out before release, I remember the Spice & Wolf II LE sold out mere days after release, all 4 High School DxD LEs went very fast, Haganai went ridiculously fast (Where did that stock RightStuf got recently they were selling for $10 come from? For years that thing was hard to find.), all 5,000 units of Darker Than Black S1 lasted about a year (helps that the DVD went OOP due to FUNimation's license expiring), and OniAi (which was LE-only) also went pretty quick.
