Summer 2019 anime lineup

Before the spring season started, a couple of shows have announced their premiere dates:

Starmyu season 3: Monday, July 1 (23:00 on Tokyo MX)
Fire Force: Friday, July 5 (25:25 on MBS)

This season, the Aniplex shows are Lord El-Melloi, which Aniplex of America has already licensed, and Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks? (i.e. the isekai show with the long name involving an OP mother and her son), while there figures to be one more Aniplex show either between Oresuki, Magia Record, or Cells at Work season 2 (the last one unlikely since it's way too soon). In any case, expect these shows to be Saturday shows in the Aniplex block. Fire Force, Granbelm, and O Maidens in Your Savage Season are the three Animeism shows, the first of the expanded block, so these will be Friday shows, while the Noitamina show is the BL musical show Given, hence it's coming on Thursday. Also, Toho is on the production committee for Dr. Stone, so chances are it's going to be a Sunday show.

Some more premiere dates have been announced, and here is what has been announced so far this season:

O Maidens in Your Savage Season: Friday, July 5 (26:25 on MBS)
Ensemble Stars!: Sunday, July 7 (22:30 on Tokyo MX)
Vinland Saga: Sunday, July 7 (24:10 on NHK-G)

As was previously announced, Vinland Saga will be an Amazon exclusive, while Funimation has Fire Force (and with the recent developments, chances are Crunchyroll will also stream the sub). Ensemble Stars is in the time slot reserved for Bandai shows, so Bandai is expected to be the publisher for it.

So moving forward, I'm predicting premiere dates, though shows are being added. I'll do so for all shows that have been announced so far, but I will separate them into two sections where the publisher ties are known and where they are not and are just wild guesses.

While more shows probably will get added to the lineup, it's about time that I start doing licensing predictions for the season. Now that I kind of get how things are going to work from hereon out that I decided to redefine the lists to minimize the amount of double-listing. So everything under the Crunchyroll list is now stuff that they are co-producing, as well as shows that aren't streaming anywhere else like King of Prism and most of the shorts during the spring season that are less than half-length. Funimation list is for everything they are simuldubbing, and the content there might appear on Crunchyroll. But nevertheless, I'm looking at the primary licensor in my predictions and not where they will actually end up streaming when all is said and done.

As expected, the Fate series side-story is the second show in the Aniplex block with the third one expected to be for the isekai mother show.

So this is definitely something, but I'm not sure how soon we'll see something come out of it. Crunchyroll already has a playlist set up for Summer simulcasts and it has four videos already which are currently set to private.

Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest: Monday, July 8 (24:30 on Tokyo MX)
Isekai Cheat Magician: Wednesday, July 10 (22:00 on AT-X, 25:35 on Tokyo MX)

Magical Senpai and Are You Lost? are going to be half-length shorts sharing the same time slot like what Isekai Quartet and the Strike Witches short is this season, and while this season features two Toho shows, neither of them are going to be in the Sunday time slot reserved for them (Takagi-san is in the time slot just before it). Isekai Cheat Magician is a Kadokawa show that will occupy the second Wednesday time slot reserved for them, and I expect the first one to be for Naka no Hito Genome with chance it's for HenSuki or Wasteful Days of High School Girl as well (which was more likely for the second than the first timeslot).

So with these announcements, all Monday time slots on Tokyo MX are accounted for except for a short, while there still is one more Monday show coming on TV Tokyo that has yet to be announced. Of the remaining shows yet to be announced, the time slots are pretty much known for Try Knights (Tuesdays 25:59 on NTV), Given (Thursdays 24:55 on Fuji TV) and Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two Hit Multi Target Attacks? (Saturdays at 24:30 on Tokyo MX)

Usually, Aniplex shows only go on Friday when there are more than three Aniplex shows on Tokyo MX, but this season the third slot in the Aniplex block will be for a rebroadcast of Madoka Magica, so the decision was made to put Two-Hit Mom on Aniplex overflow block instead.
