    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sentai Filmworks Lands "Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!?"

HOUSTON, TX, March 30, 2019 - Sentai Filmworks announced today that it acquired exclusive rights to the ecchi comedy series Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!? through a worldwide license arrangement (excluding Japan and Asia).

Ichiro Sato is about as average as a student can get? except for his above-average ability to land himself in totally awkward, intensely risque situations with his no-nonsense teacher, Kana Kojima! Ichiro has his hands full dealing with these steamy shenanigans and unexpected encounters in the most unlikely places. At least it can?t get any worse, right?

The series will be animated by tear-studio (The Royal Tutor Movie), and it will be directed by Hiraku Kaneko (The Qwaser of Stigmata, Tsurezure Children). The series stars Sumire Uesaka (Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, [email protected] CINDERELLA GIRLS) as Kana Kojima, Ryota Suzuki (DOREIKU The Animation, Tsurune) as Ichiro Sato, Toshiki Masuda (My Hero Academia, IDOLiSH7) as Rin Suzuki and Yuko Goto (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Hidamari Sketch) as Mayu Matsukaze.

The series will be available for the Spring 2019 simulcast season to stream on select digital outlets with a home video release to follow.

Our friends over at Sentai Filmworks have this to say about the series:

And with that, Sentai's first three licenses of the season are all shows that consist of half-length shows. This was one I thought would be more up Funimation's alley seeing that they are into more fanservicey stuff, but nevertheless it also fits in with the type of stuff Sentai goes after. Of course, they probably aren't going to get Isekai Quartet or the new Strike Witches series, with Over Drive Girl 1/6 being the other half-length show this season, but nevertheless Sentai knows what they want this season and they just zeroed in on their first acquisitions.
MyAnimeList | Avatar: Futaba Igarashi, My Senpai is Annoying, getting ready for 2022
Watching: Saiyuki Reload, Arifureta, Edens Zero, One Piece
      Simulcasts: TBD
The only thing better than anime is sports. Get hit hard and you got JACKED UP! Or else it's a C'mon Man!

I am not so sure that this and the other short length shows that Sentai has acquired so far is what they truly wanted. Sentai has struggled to acquire licenses of new shows for the past few years, and these Spring titles were probably on the cheap and thus, easier to acquire. Sentai licenses what they are able to get and not necessarily what they desire/want, but I am hopeful that they will pick more shows that are of good quality and profitable for them.

They managed to snipe Seven Heavenly Virtues and Gakuen Basara from Crunchyroll and Funimation respectively, it's a bad idea to assume these new spin-offs won't be in their sights if opportunity arises. Also as mentioned before, Sentai also seems to also be in a bit of a weakened state in terms of bargaining post-Anime Strike and while they've been able to piggyback on Crunchyroll licenses for the past nine months we don't know the extent of any potential partnership now that Crunchyroll is starting to take a more active role in dubbing and distributing their own licenses. Sentai is going to get what they can get, but pickings may be slim for a little while. I have confidence in them though, they've survived this long by being scrappy.

HIDIVE, what gives!? The “Late Night Edition” is still censored! Yes, since this edition was broadcast on TV, it’s still censored, but not as much as our original simulcast. Think of this as an extra spicy version. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Don’t worry, though. We’ve got a few things we’re still keeping under wraps… for now.

How can you access this new version? Check out our Uncensored Anime Guide and be on the lookout for the version labeled “Late Night Edition”!

                            Sure, but when?

Not happy with this. What they should have done is using late night edition during simulcast. That way, we can get uncensored version by now. Or just put up both late night edition and uncensored at same time.

Maybe they want to encourage people to buy the Blu-Rays??
