GEGEGE NO KITARO BEGINS "SECOND YEAR" WITH 50TH EPISODE

As it approaches the end of its one year run since premiering on April 1st of 2018, the new remake of GeGeGe no Kitaro is set to begin its "second year" with the 50th episode of the series.

Episode 50 will air on April 7, 2019, erupting with a new chapter and story arc featuring the “Four Generals of Hell” and a new character named Rei Isurugi, a mysterious human high school student who seems to have a hatred against the yokai and who is chasing after Kitaro.

The 50th episode will also kick-off the new ending theme song for the series, "RONDO" by the Japanese rock band, BUCK-TICK. The airing of GeGeGe no Kitaro on April 7 will be the first time that this song will be heard.

The new chapter of GeGeGe no Kitaro will continue to be broadcasted on Fuji TV in Japan and can also be watched through the streaming service, Crunchyroll every Saturday.

Seeing that there are some shows that were announced for the season but got delayed (Chihayfuru 2 and Kabukicho Sherlock were initially announced for this season but got delayed until the fall) and that Funimation just signed a partnership with bilibili that I have updated my predictions seeing that aside from what has been obvious for quite some time now, nothing has been licensed at this time. Million Arthur and Magmell of the Sea Blue are shows with bilibili as the publisher, so I have added those to Funimation's list, while rearranging some titles, but mostly updating in light of the news since making these predictions.

That could be it. Why don't you try and see if you can turn that off temporarily?

The premiere date announcements are just about wrapping up and here are the latest (and quite possibly the last).

Cinderella Girls Theater: Climax Season: Tuesday, April 2 (21:55 on Tokyo MX)
Kedama no Gojiro: Saturday, April 6 (10:00 on TV Tokyo, Friday in America)
Kiratto Pri-chan Season 2: Sunday, April 7 (10:00 on TV Tokyo, Saturday in America)
Midnight Occult Civil Servants: Sunday, April 7 (24:30 on Tokyo MX)
Jimoto ga Japan: Monday, April 8 (7:00 on TV Tokyo, Sunday in America)
B Rappers Street: Thursday, April 11 (7:05 on TV Tokyo, Wednesday in America)
Bungo Stray Dogs Season 3: Friday, April 12 (22:30 on Tokyo MX)

Sundays this season are going to be loaded, a far cry from the winter season when there's just one standard length shows and two half-length shows. Sundays usually have six time slots on Tokyo MX, though there's at least one rerun or delaycast among them, while TV Tokyo and NHK both have a timeslot. This season has four premieres on Tokyo MX, a show on TV Tokyo, and two on NHK (though Gundam Origin is more of a rerun seeing that it's just the OVA edited for TV broadcast). Just one show's premiere date has yet to be announced in Kabukicho Sherlock, though given the lack of news I'm not sure if it's going to air this season or not. And there's still an opening left for TBS to air a second show, but so far it's only the Bakumatsu sequel.

More premiere dates have been announced as it's almost all out now:

Aikatsu! Friends: Thursday, April 4 (18:25 on TV Tokyo)
Operation Han-gyaku-sei Million Arthur Part 2: Thursday, April 4 (22:00 on Tokyo MX)
Hey, Your Cat Ears are Showing! Season 2: Friday, April 5 (22:30 on Tokyo MX)
Fairy Gone: Sunday, April 7 (24:00 on Tokyo MX)
Why the Hell are you here, Teacher!?: Sunday, April 7 (25:05 on Tokyo MX)
RobiHachi: Monday, April 8 (24:30 on Tokyo MX)
Isekai Quartet: Tuesday, April 9 (24:30 on Tokyo MX)
Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san: Wednesday, April 10 (23:30 on Tokyo MX)
Sarazanmai: Thursday, April 11 (24:55 on Fuji TV)

More shows are revealed to be shorts as Isekai Quartet and Why the hell are you here, Teacher!? are 15 minutes long. As expected, Fairy Gone is in the Sunday timeslot reserved for Toho shows (though there wasn't one for the winter season). So that leaves just Bungo Stray Dogs, Cinderella Girls Theater season 4, Kabukicho Sherlock, Midnight Occult Civil Servants, and a TBS show (hasn't been announced yet, but signs are pointing towards The Starlit Sky being it) left to announce their premiere dates.
