I was pretty shocked and asked for them if this was the case for even the new Dragon Boxes 5,6, and 7. They told me yes that once all the online stores run out of them they will not be replenished. Conclusion??? Get the Dragon Boxes ASAP if you want them!!!!!

    Hello,

The Dragon Ball Z boxes were all limited edition box sets, and they will not have a second run. They have been discontinued and the stock that each store caries is limited. Stores such as Amazon do carry the product though. Please see the below link:

    Thank you,

Well, I'm glad I got all of them already. The last box should be shipping for me tomorrow from TRSI.

No surprises here. FUNimation had made clear that the sets were limited release from pretty early on. Even without FUNimation saying anything, there have been stocking problems throughout this year and parts of last year (not counting set 2) from select retailers.

I don't imagine this helps the chances of the Dragon Box Z movies any (let alone the already microscopic hope of DB or GT Boxes.) Then again, the BD announcements didn't help much either.

I saw this coming. They are expensive to produce and don't sell as well as the orange bricks. I've personally never seen them release something with such high quality packaging before. Hopefully it isn't the last time.

Considering that this had been marketed to die-hards of DBZ that this was coming.

I'm glad that I got them all

I do wonder if Funimation will re-release them in cheaper packaging without the book or box, maybe under their Anime Classics banner?

Re: Dragon Ball Z Dragon Boxes have been discontinued

Wow, first they announce the Blu-rays before the last one is released, with release dates coming immediately after that last one is going to be released, then they discontinue them right after it is released. I sure am glad I pre-ordered most of them, and at least got them all quickly enough. I guess they're very much limited edition releases.

*sighs* No. So ps3, please do not necro old threads unless there is a significant change. And Dragon, please don't backseat mod. If you have a concern, please hit the alert mod button on a post. And since nothing new has come up, this thread is being left to die.
