          • That does nothing for me since I don't have Chromecast. I'm still waiting for it to come out on PS4, and they should be focusing their efforts on that and Roku since that's what most people use for streaming.

We've run into some problems developing the Roku app and are working to sort them out. We are still planning to release it later in 2018.

But as Funimation leaves the platform, another anime contender enters. VRV has inked a new partnership with anime-centric streaming service HIDIVE. The new channel will offer VRV users over 500 titles, including "Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma" and "Elfen Lied" along with a large catalogue of classic foreign anime dubbed in English.

                            • Miles Thomas (Brand Manager at Crunchyroll) implies that Crunchyroll would like to acquire HIDIVE's animes to stream.

Think we'll see hidive stuff appear on CR?

We'll see! I hope that we can work something out, especially since VRV's currently US-only, and I'd love even more folks to be able to watch these great series.

                              • I would have to think that Crunchyroll and HIDIVE will have a similar deal in place so that the majority of their subbed stuff appears on CR, while the dubbed stuff is on HIDIVE. But to entice people to keep their HIDIVE accounts, Sentai could opt to keep certain titles exclusive to them like the original LGH series. Seeing that Sentai doesn't have any megacorporation backers unlike Funimation does with Sony that I think a partnership would be more beneficial to Sentai than to Funimation, but we shall see about that. This could very well end up being similar to how it is today, except that Funimation and Sentai switch places.

With if they to finalize this partnership, then it should help get Food Wars! The Third Plate and Fate/Illya 3rei! released seeing that it needs to be dubbed in Houston, and under the Funimation partnership that would amount to outsourcing, which the Houston studios are not as likely to do compared to Dallas or LA. We shall see what happens as there are a lot of details that need to be ironed out.
