Funimation Unveils SimulDub Schedule For Fall 2016 Season
Line-Up of Eighteen SimulDub Shows Includes "Drifters," "Keijo!!!!!!!!," "91 Days," "Mob Psycho 100," "Orange," "ReLIFE," and "Joker Game"
FLOWER MOUND, Texas, Oct. 4, 2016 -- This fall, Funimation® will be bringing English dub fans an amazing season of SimulDub™ shows. Based on fan requests to SimulDub as many shows as possible, Funimation will SimulDub 18 of the total 19 shows in its Fall 2016 season – exceeding last season's record count of SimulDub shows (formerly Broadcast Dubs). Fans will now be able to enjoy the first of many new shows that are now available as a result of Funimation's partnership with Crunchyroll announced last month. All SimulDub shows will stream in commercial-free 1080p each week and are available exclusively to Premium (formerly All-AccessPass) subscribers.
"We have invested a lot to bring dub release to as close to the Japanese broadcast as possible," said Gen Fukunaga, CEO and founder of Funimation. "From new titles like 'Drifters' and 'Keijo!!!!!!!!' to fan favorites including 'Orange' and 'ReLIFE' – we have something for everyone."
The volume of SimulDub shows this season is made possible by Funimaton's integrated in-house studio. As previously announced, Funimation is now able to produce a SimulDub in as soon as two weeks after an episode airs in Japan. SimulDub shows allow fans to enjoy a wide selection of titles months before they are released on home video.
"We're extremely pleased to once again raise the bar and bring our fans a record number of SimulDub shows this season," said Mike DuBoise, EVP and COO of Funimation. "Our proven ability to produce a SimulDub episode within two weeks truly sets Funimation apart in the industry and enables us to not only bring content quicker to our current subscribers but also create a whole new audience by making anime more accessible with English language dubs.
