    Re: Crunchyroll licenses Gintama

I'm happy to see Gintama being given a second go on home video. I bought everything Sentai put out years back (4 TV sets & the 1st movie), but I'd consider double-dipping. I do wonder if CrunchyRoll is going to start from the start, though, as Gintama started out in 4:3 & I'm not sure if there are BDs for the original SD episodes. At the same time, fans are fickle in general & likely won't be pleased if CR starts with, for example, the latest season that finished up.
Come Visit The Land of Obscusion... Maybe you missed a title the first time around.

OMG, this makes me so happy since it's my #1 anime along with Hunter x Hunter (2011).
So happy that it's going to get a chance for physical release again!

Wait a minutes, does this mean the Gintama TV series is finally being English Dubbed, or am I confused?

Such glorious news! I hope it'll sell great enough so one could achieve getting all of Gintama in a nice R1 release, but then there's that saying about counting chickens. It was looking like it wouldn't even have a chance at a dub, let alone sub-only release of the show what with how risky long-runners can be here. But I'm excited, and hope there will be more news on it soon.

What will happen to titles that Crunchyroll has previously announced it will be making for home video?
They will still be released, and will be distributed through our partner, Funimation. Crunchyroll and Funimation will be working together to produce all future titles.

                      ^ *Jaw drops*

WOW! Never thought I'd see the day! (Not something I'd watch, but more Gintama love [read: fans] is always a good thing. You can't take me away from the subbed version! ).

Now if only more of the show would be released on physical media....

I really hope they don't just put out the fourth season...

And yes, that is the fourth season, not the third.

The 265 previous episode + movie dub when?

No news about those rights at this time, I'm afraid! We're just streaming the dubbed season ^_^

Funimation has acquired the rights to release Gintama series 3 (also known as Gintama?, episodes 266-316) on home video!!

We know Gintama fans probably have a lot of questions about this. Currently we only have the rights to these episodes at this time. The first half, episodes 266-291, are hitting Blu-ray/DVD March 27. This release has sub AND dub streaming on FunimationNow
