Out of curiosity, how does one get the Donator label on the forums? I noticed around but wasn't really sure how that works or is that discontinued?

It's a legacy thing now, and basically discontinued, yeah, but it had set up a version of this years ago, where one could PayPal donations directly to Chris monthly, or on whatever schedule. I'm not sure how many have kept it going that have the label, but I've kept it going on my end, at least. It's more to manage that, however, compared to services like this. And, like Patreon, regular donations like that work with some fanbases better than others, where eventually there's attrition until hardly anyone's left. (It was also instituted when the forum population/traffic was more robust.) While I think asking for annual one-time donations like this may have a better effect. Hopefully.

So, back to the pitch: whatever amount people would like to donate will work, and is enormously appreciated. Even $5 each from a quarter of the regular forum users would be huge.

I'd like to support the site, but it's a little bit of a rough month. I don't want to delay too much, only to find the drive has ended.

GFM's tend to be open-ended, so as far as I'm aware, there isn't a set end date for this.

Just so you know, this is a donation drive and not a crowdfunding drive. There's quite a huge difference between those two as here, there is no project where it will only get off the ground if enough money is raised (and if not, then no money is exchanged). So it's a pay as you go type of deal.

Thanks. I've never used GoFundMe and wasn't sure if there was some eventual lock date. I'll assume the drive is generally open-ended.

I just made a donation of $5 seeing that money is quite tight for me these days. Good to see that Right Stuf is promoting this donation campaign as I have been getting ads for this through their e-mail messages. At this point, it's at $2500, 10% percent of the goal.

^I'll make a donation tonight when I get home from work. Haven't decided how much I'll donate, but it will be over $40.

EDIT: And true to my word, I just made my donation. I decided to do something different and donate 1 cent for every post that I made on this forum. I have over 5,200 posts since I migrated from the old AoD forum, so rounded to the nearest dollar my donation was for $52.00.
