I wonder how long it'll be until they start rolling out dub info.

Sub epsisodes 14 - 26 is now streaming on Hulu: http://www.hulu.com/hunter-x-hunter.

And just as a note, new episodes are added on Hulu monthly.

    Hunter x Hunter: Season 1a (13 Episodes)
I thought this was original HxH,why call it s1 if it isnt?
They're two separate adaptations of the same manga, not seasons of the same series. It's like calling Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood the "second season" of the 2003 anime series of Fullmetal Alchemist. It's not.
Im confused by your post. Since both series are called HxH how do we know this is 2011 and not the old one? Hulu has been adding old anime too.
Because the old anime is most likely no longer licensed by Viz

May be what the Japanese insisted on, or might just indicate how the home video portion is going to be divided up by Viz.

Welcome! Definitely an announcement worthy of making an account over. Amazing series. Now begins another 12 year wait till the eventual 3rd remake with a whopping additional one whole arc (two if we're extremely lucky).

Here are the French DVD set breakdown so far (big gap between 4th & 5th sets). They may have one more set after one listed below.

    - Vol.1 | eps 1 - 10 | September 26, 2012
    - Vol.2 | eps 11 - 20 | March 27, 2013
    - Vol.3 | eps 21 - 35 | May 2, 2013
    - Vol.4 | eps 36 - 50 | July 17, 2013
    - Vol.5 | eps 51 - 59 | January 21, 2015
    - Greed Island | eps 60 - 75 | February 18, 2015

Isn't this a highly requested show for Toonami? If so, it would be cool to see it on the block in time!

    • Hunter Exam arc (eps 1 - 21)
    • Zoldyck Family arc (eps 22 - 26)
    • Heavens Arena arc (eps 27 - 36)
    • Yorknew City arc (eps 37 - 58)
    • Greed Island arc (eps 59 - 75)
    • Chimera Ant arc (eps 76 - 136)
    • 13th Hunter Chairman Election arc (eps 137 - 148)
Funny this should be brought up, I had actually crunched some numbers about a year ago when I was under the impression FUNimation was picking up the series.

    Assuming traditional 12-13 episode sets:

    Hunter's Exam Part 1: Episodes 1-13
Hunter's Exam Part 2 (Plus Zoldyck Family): Episodes 14-26
Yorknew City Part 1 (Heaven's Arena): Episodes 27-38
Yorknew City Part 2: Episodes 39-50
Yorknew City Part 3 (Plus Beginning of Greed Island): Episodes 51-62
Yorknew City Part 4: Episodes 63-75
Chimera Ant Part 1: Episodes 76-88
Chimera Ant Part 2: Episodes 89-100
Chimera Ant Part 3: Episodes 101-112
Chimera Ant Part 4: Episodes 113-124
Chimera Ant Part 5: Episodes 125-136
Chimera Ant Part 6 (Chairman Election): 137-148

Assuming Sailor Moon styled 2-in-1 packs:

    Hunter's Exam Complete Collection: 1-26
    Yorknew City Collection 1: 27-50
    Yorknew City Collection 2: 51-75
    Chimera Ant Collection 1: 76-100
    Chimera Ant Collection 2: 101-124
    Chimera Ant Collection 3: 125-148

With the 2-in-1 styled collections, they'd even be small enough that artboxes would be possible.
