    Re: Deltora Quest

Darn, no chance of seeing an uncut bi-lingual DVD release now.

It will be interesting to see if Deltora Quest is released in widescreen this time, or cropped again (like the Australia DVD releases).

Yeah. Judging from the initial information, it will likely be just the 52 English dubbed episodes (like the AU release).

Interesting to see this finally get a release. Dentsu's sat on it for awhile, outside of the TV airing when the Hub first started. Disappointed that it'll most likely be dub only, though I wonder if New Video Group would be interested in doing something similar to Digimon and have subtitled versions for streaming.

It's good to see this show back, although I would want to see a subtitled version available as well.

North American distributor Cinedigm (formally New Video Group) confirmed with ANN on Wednesday that it will release the Deltora Quest television anime series in a "Deltora Quest Megaset" on DVD on May 13. Online retailer Amazon lists that the eight-disc set will retail for US$79.95. Cinedigm could not confirm the retail price with ANN or if the release would include both the Japanese and English audio tracks.

So it's looking a bit more promising? No listing on TRSI yet and no confirmation on Cinedigm as well.

I believe the English dub may have only had minor edits, if any. It's possible an unedited version at least exists, and this will be bilingual.

Interesting being hopeful that it won't be too long for Cinedigm to confirm both audios are included.

Was the original aspect ratio in widescreen or was if fullscreen?

Perhaps it was dubbed uncut and edited from there?

Probably, although I thought Zatch Bell was dubbed that way too.

They didn't dub the last 13 episodes though, which are technically non-canon to the original story. If they did, the dubbed versions haven't been released. I expect this release to only have the canon 52 episodes.

The edited English dub shown in Australia had major changes, with many scenes changed, or moved around. We can only hope an uncut version was produced at the same time.

Yes, the original aspect ratio was widescreen.

You'd think that the episodes would be uncropped, then; why crop the episodes when widescreen would be the 'screen-filling' option anyway?
