    2014 Winter Simulcasts – D-Frag! (D-Fragments) Joins the Line-up
Exciting news! D-Frag! (D-Fragments) will be joining our 2014 Winter Simulcast Line-up. D-Frag! is from the studio that brought you Durarara!! We’ll be sure to update everyone once we have a simulcast date and time.

    synpopsis:

Kenji likes to think that he and his gang of friends are the bad boys of their school. That is, until he meets the four insane girls of a game-making club whose personalities are all super weird (and a little on the violent side). When Kenji’s forced to join their little group, his life quickly takes a turn for the outrageous.

    Re: FUNimation licenses D-Frag!

This is one of my most anticipated shows of the season. It is billing itself as one of those crazy comedies like Baka and Test is, so I definitely am looking forward to watching this. Until Funi redid their website, such news would have been met with a facepalm, but not anymore. Now I am interested in seeing what else Funi has.

I noticed the Media Factory logo does play on the show itself (in addition to the Kadokawa logos). Despite the fact that Media Factory still have their logos on FUNimation and publishing credits on Crunchyroll, I find it interesting that since Fall, they're apparently not credited as "Media Factory" anymore in production committee credits. They were just plain "KADOKAWA" (romaji all-caps) in both Machine Doll and Non Non Biyori IIRC. Wonder how much consolidation there might be going forward as far as the US anime licensing side of things is concerned.

FUNimation has acquired the home video distribution rights for D-Frag!

                    synopsis:

Based on the manga released by Seven Seas.

Kenji likes to think that he and his gang of friends are the bad boys of their school. That is, until he meets the four insane girls of a game making club whose personalities are all super weird (and a little on the violent side). Hey, neat. As usual I forgot they only had streaming for this one initially. One of the smartest off-kilter comedies of the past couple years, and could be an extra delight with a dub (pretty please).

Haha, I just threw this title into my Hulu queue the other day. Do I watch it now or wait for the physical release?

FUNi home video license usually equates to a dub. They did one sub-only release with Oniai, but we still haven't seen anything else since then. Also, D-Frag seemed to be ranking fairly highly among the simulcasts of its season on Hulu (was even above Buddy Complex, the Sunrise mecha series of the season). But the real question is if it's a dub they will give much care, since it varies from series to series with them. FUNi comedy dubs lately tend to be pretty fun, though, so might be one to look forward to.
