    • Wow, Funi is releasing the first part a full month before the last volume even releases in Japan. Not gonna complain about that! Already pre-ordered The LE box set!

        • It gets my attention too seeing the first half of Yamato 2202 solicited on disc, but I am wondering about the second half the series not even having been streamed over here yet. Maybe I'm just still leery about having bought the old "Star Blazers 2199 quasi-import neo-singles" only for that release to trail away into nothingness past the halfway point.

The series hasn't finished in Japanese theaters, so I think Funimation just needs to wait a little longer.

The final film screens in Japanese cinemas on March 1, 2019. If Funimation resumes their stream/dub of 2202 around the start of next year (their cut off was at ep 13, which was compiled into Movie 4 of the 7 total), the timing could be right for them to complete the entire series.

Either way, soliciting their home video release of Part 1 and the LE having room for a Part 2 makes it seem clear Funi are confident in completing it.
