    Widgets Magazine

    What does it stand for?
    • S.A.V.E. = Super Amazing Value Edition

    What is it?
    • These are a new line of FUNimation releases (not necessarily boxsets) with a new, lower MSRP [$34.98, $29.98, $19.98, $14.98, and $9.98].
    • Some of these releases are new SKUs while others are just reprices. Reprices may occur @ an earlier date than the supposed release date (1+ month).
    • It is a different line from the Viridian Collection releases.
    • Not all brands and repriced releases will get a S.A.V.E. release.

    What about the packaging?
    • If it’s a new packaging (new SKU), there’s going to be a S.A.V.E. label or a spine banner. The packaging style is usually keep cases.
      • S.A.V.E. label (removable)
        • They will be very recognizable. Think like the used textbooks sticker, but only green. Another example would be like Playstation's Greatest Hit.

        • Example: Kanon (LINK)

      • S.A.V.E. spine banner (permanent, part of the cover art)
        • It will cover the spine and part of the front/back covers
        • Example: Mongolian Chop Squad (LINK)
        • Certain permanent spine cover releases may offer reversible cover like UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie Seasons 3 & 4

    • Example of a reprice: Moon Phase (S.A.V.E.) is the same as Moon Phase: Complete Collection (Viridian) with the addition of a S.A.V.E. label on the shrinkwrap and a new lower MSRP.
    • Whether or not it’s a sticker or wrap redesign will ultimately be determined by FUNimation's inventory.

What does the small texts on the S.A.V.E. green bar say?
    • "Want to Add to Your Collection Without Breaking the Bank? Bring Home a Bargain with the Super Amazing Value Edition!"

    What about the on-disc contents?
    • Each S.A.V.E. release will have the same DVDs as the previous release, so no changes on the disc content.

When are the releases going to be released?
    • The releases will start to show up in March starting with Moon Phase: Complete Collection (Viridian).

Thanks again for the verification. And the table is updated again. Now that leaves these titles:
                        • Coyote Ragtime Show

Excellent! Will definitely be picking these two up. I own nearly every SAVE series that I didn't already have from a previous release, it just consistently amazes me that you can get a full 26 episode series for the same price as what a single volume used to cost back in the day.

It is a great time to be a fan.
I think Asimov wrote the manual to my microwave. It's 600 pages long, but I've read it twice and lent it to three of my friends.
