    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    SENTAI FILMWORKS LICENSES
    “TSURITAMA”

HOUSTON, April 18, 2012 — Sentai Filmworks is proud to announce their latest catch: Kenji Nakamura’s (Ayakashi – Samurai Horror Tales) tsuritama. Originally airing in Fuji Television’s prestigious noitaminA block, tsuritama is sure to be the catch of the day.

You can’t catch fish if you don’t go fishing, and you can’t make friends if you don’t at least try. Which is how relationship-challenged student Yuki finds himself on a fishing trip to a tiny island with three other boys he barely knows. Well, two other boys and Haru, who claims that he’s an alien. Not that constantly stewing Natsuki or mysterious Akira are any more likely as prospects for good companionship. But there’s something about fishing that makes it unlike any other pastime, and maybe that quiet sense of companionship and hopeful expectation is just what Yuki needs to start charting the unfamiliar waters of personal connections. Or maybe it will turn out that Haru’s right and they’re going to have to save the entire planet. There are lots of different kinds of fish stories, from the “ones that got away” to the “best catches ever,” but whichever way the currents of life take them, for four young men, this trip may turn out to be the biggest whopper ever in tsuritama!

tsuritama will begin release through select digital outlets soon with a home video release to follow.

It was somewhat an expected license, but a welcomed one. I will be watching the series via CR before making any final decision.

I've seen screencaps from this and it would benefit from the full Blu-ray treatment here.

I've really liked Nakamura's previous shows and I assume Tsuritama will be the same. I too hope it gets a Blu-ray release.

Now if someone could just license Mononoke...

              Wholely expected ( http://www.fandompost.com/oldforums/...ll=1#post93067 )

That leaves Dusk Maiden of Amnesia for Thursday, then followed by Hyouka for Friday (this is my hope at least, since it airs this coming Sunday and they don't release PRs on weekends).

Well, people here are certainly calling these licenses ahead of time. I'm sort of impressed. I'm not shocked that Sentai continues to dominate licensing each season, however.

I am immensely happy. I'll be able to own this. And I'd be forever grateful for a BD release at that. The show needs and deserves one.

Sentai still on fire and this is not a surprise. I'll watch the show on CR before taking a decision. I hope they will release it on Blu-ray.

I'm sure Dusk Maiden will be announced tomorrow or Friday. I'm actually thinking they are holding off on announcing it just to torture me...lol

I haven't heard too much about this one, but I will be checking it out. The screen caps look nice at least.

                          Re: Sentai Filmworks licenses tsuritama

Sentai's seasonal licensing spree continues in this huge season. Now they have both noitaminA shows. After one episode, I'm really not sure how I'll end up feeling about this one after another ten, but I'll definitely be watching them all, and depending on how I end up feeling about it after that, I'll likely end up buying it if they release it on Blu-ray, or at least dub it. Dusk Maiden of Amnesia would be another welcome license, and I REALLY hope they license Hyouka as well, especially if it comes with a simulcast announcement, preferably on Crunchyroll (not too optimistic about all of that working out, though).

Is Sentai trying to license Japan itself at this point? In any case, I still need to try this and as such I have no real opinion yet.

Looks like another good show they picked up which will definitely look great once released on Bluray. Sentai has been licensing alot sure but until more of their recent announcements get Bluray rights then I'll consider them dominating for the season.
