So Toonami is still adverse to adding new shows right now, even though the episodes are up and ready to go. They still haven't finished finalizing their contract for Food Wars season 3, while they are starting Mob Psycho from the beginning rather than go into the second season, and now they are doing a rerun for Dragon Ball Super to lead off the block, albeit only rebroadcasting the second half. Tower of God seems destined to go on Toonami at some point, but even with it ahead of the broadcast schedule they are not ready to put something like that up. At least they are going with something that scored them big ratings during its broadcast, and something that will give them a year and a half's worth of episodes to lead off the block.

Adult Swim is having their own virtual convention on July 23-25. Among the things they are going to announce includes information about Uzumaki and Blade Runner: Black Lotus that is part of their originals lineup.

The folks at Adult Swim have something special in store for next month. In the absence of any real physical cons this year we can now look forward to Adult Swim Con, a completely free online event scheduled for July 23-25 at AdultSwimCon.com.

In addition to exclusive events featuring Rick and Morty, Robot Chicken, a Cosplay Cup, and the Flying Lotus x Yolo: Crystal Fantasy DJ Set, Toonami will have its own presence. So far we know that will consist of upcoming show announcements, as well as interviews and info about the Uzumaki anime and Blade Runner: Black Lotus.

So from the look of things here, with July 4 falling on a Saturday this year that it's looking like a My Hero Academia marathon, but with episodes selected by the fans rather than being a marathon of the final episodes of the season. So it looks like there won't be a new show to replace it until July 18 seeing that it looks like episode 87 will air on June 20, while it's going to be a grind to get the finale ready the following week, and Independence Day is the week after that.

It was expected that Golden Wind would be behind schedule at some point, and seeing that a recap happens after the last episode aired that it would be a good time to have it. And with My Hero Academia ending on June 20 that an announcement for the next show should be coming soon. And since July 4 is on a Saturday this year that I have to think that it's going to be a marathon night which allows more time for dubs to get back on track. I'm thinking that Tower of God would be the most logical choice to replace MHA when it ends as it's a hit show this season, and it's a Crunchyroll Original that Adult Swim has been advertising seeing that they are both part of Warner Media, and also the dub is far enough along.

We’re sorry to say that starting this coming Saturday, we’ll have to press pause on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure for a bit. There have been Coronavirus related delays with getting us the dub. However, we have a consolation prize we think you might enjoy: we’re happy to announce that Christy Karacas’s anime homage series “Ballmastrz: 9009” will make its Toonami debut this Saturday at 2am! Christy is a huge anime fan, and it shows in this gorgeously animated series. We’re going to be starting with Season 1 episode 1. See if you can spot all the references! Full schedule below:

    12:00AM – My Hero Academia
    12:30AM – Paranoia Agent
    01:00AM – Mob Psycho
    01:30AM – Black Clover
    02:00AM – Ballmastrz: 9009
    02:30AM – Naruto: Shippuden
