Why do you release sub only shows DVD only?

Various reasons. Mostly due to smaller market size for BD products compared to DVD and cost of production for BD vs DVD.
            https://twitter.com/Madman/status/726928369686695936
I see so the smaller market for BD means it's less worth the risk to pay the higher production costs for sub shows

Correct. it can cost 4x the amount in costs to produce a BD vs DVD. Where possible we will always try to release both though.

Long time independent Australian anime distributor Siren Visual has apparently gone through a bit of a quiet change last month that I haven’t seen reflected anywhere. According to an update from another local distributor of cult films, Glass Doll Films, they’ve acquired Siren Visual.

According to information from Glass Doll Films, Siren Visual is now under new ownership and the previous staff from Siren Visual have moved on. Glass Doll Films has taken over control of Siren’s catalog and will be continuing the brand and will be making appearances at the various conventions in the region in the coming months. By all appearances, it looks like it’ll be business as usual, at least for the short term.

I don't think there are any basketball anime around at the moment?

Email is headed "Coming soon to AnimeLab" which you don't see on the web version.

Maybe it's something related to Kuroko's Basketball?

It's likely to be Kuroko's Basketball. Madman announced they had the show last year and promised it would be streaming on AnimeLab.

Looks like Higurashi Rei has been rated for release in Australia. By Sony Universal and not Siren Visual, DVD only. Well I guess we get "When They Cry", "Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni: Kai" and "When They Cry ~ Rei" across our shelves.
