Man, if I could somehow get to Australia I would love to see an event like that in person. Would be a great excuse for a vacation to leave the country. It's too bad I have other commitments. Maybe eventually we can have something of that nature at a US convention.

^ That's in New Zealand, not Australia.

True, but either way, I'm no where near that part of the world. There's still no way I would be able to make it there. If I could make it to Australia, I don't think it would be that much more difficult to get to New Zealand.

New site is horribly broken. Lots of links not working, looks bad on mobile. I would give it at least another few days to hopefully be usable.

                    Re: General AU news/Twitter stuff

I opened a few of releases at random, all had "JapaneseEnglish" audio, "16:09" or "04:03" aspect ratio, and one had "2.o" audio...

NEW SIREN SITE - FINALLY HERE!

Thanks for your patience, guys - finally online and chugging away just fine, www.sirenvisual.com.au is back! Streamlined and ready to use, we think you'l find this new site much easier to navigate and just generally better than the old one.

We're still ironing out a few things like updating the catalogue to include our releases over the last couple of months (Monster Nodame and Nagi will be back up soon!), integrating elements from the old site and adjusting all the bits and pieces so that everything works fine. If you can't log into the site to check your pending order, don't worry - we have a record of your purchases and will be shipping your stuff out soon. All pre-orders for the Monster box-set left our office today and orders for just the box (THE BOX! THE BOX!) will be on their way Friday (that's the plan, anyway). Sit tight! It's been one of our busiest periods EVER and we're happy that the bulk of the work is outta the way.

Nodame Cantabile is on its way to us so pre-orders for that one will be heading out next week. We wanted to get it out on the 5th, but it just wasn't going to happen. Sorry. I can confirm that it looks and sounds fantastic and you will not be disappointed!

Any chance you will be getting Fushigi Yuugi back in stock?
And do you know if there's any plans to release some older animes like Magic Knights Rayearth and Ranma 1/2?

Sorry [...], but that's a nope on both fronts for now.

Would you ever consider picking up more classic titles like you have recently (like Monster, Nadia and Rahxephon)?
Personally I'd love to see an English Blu-Ray release of Gainax's Gunbuster OVA series to compliment Nadia's release which I just finished watching. I have the movie Blu-Ray which looks fantastic, but is very fragmented as it cuts a lot out from the OVAs.
It feels like a title up your alley and something I don't doubt Anime Limited/All The Anime would be a little interested in too to split authoring/mastering costs.

LOVE Gunbuster, but the last time I checked with the licensor, the original series had lingering copyright issues over the soundtrack. The second series was released by Discotek Media not so long ago.

It is sad really. Both Hanabee and MM don't seem to think much of old stuff. MM in particular is disappointing, as they did do classic releases in the past.

The only company really rescuing anything in AU these days is Siren. And I am thankful they are around. I just wish their output was a bit higher.
