This was announced fairly recently, the episode 1-48 set (was 6/17) couldn't be released due to Japan. It will be released in 2 collection: Collection 1 (July 22nd) and Collection 2 (September 2nd) instead.

Next up we have news that as of its fifth volume, Fairy Tail will be released on Blu-Ray as well as DVD in the UK. There are also plans afoot to re-release the first four volumes of the series on Blu-Ray, possibly as a pair of two volume collection releases as per those volumes' recent DVD box set releases.
