Some information that I got from Andrew Partridge during MCM Birmingham a few weeks back, these lot are relatively simple updates:

      > The Case of Hana & Alice - The UK release was delayed due to subtitle issues. One line was deleted and the rest went out of sync. The French release has this problem lol.

      > Eden of the East - Delayed to late January due to Movies.

      > Erased - The UK version will have an Artbook with tons of more content than the Aniplex version.

      > Escaflowne - Ultimate Edition has sold 56% of its stock. Standard Edition Blu-ray coming soon.

      > Full Metal Panic! - Standard Editions is expected to use around the same artwork as the Ultimate Edition cases. FUMOFFU standard edition coming soon.

      > Fullmetal Alchemist 2003 - Don't have streaming rights but would like to get them.

      > Gundam - Pretty much as we already know; Sunrise couldn't tell the difference between UK & US in terms of sales. French authoring also causing a delay. If these issues didn't occur, it would have been released in Sept.

      > K: Missing Kings & Return of Kings - The Kaze FR release doesn't have English support.

      > Riddle Story of Devil - Blu-ray will have to be authored by them as Funimation couldn't release it (Kadokawa reverse importation).

      > Selector Infected WIXOSS - Scheduled for January. Spread WIXOSS will be released under Anime Limited.

      > Shinkai Collection - Still being worked on. He's interested in including various Shinkai short films like Cross Road. Of course 5cm/s and Agartha are still issues.

      > A Silent Voice - Theatrical delayed to February due to The Who's My Generation not cleared for outside Japan. Working with Pony Canyon to sort out out.

      > Travelling Daru - Couldn't be included with the Shinkai sets because it's not done by Makoto Shinkai.

I read this on the bus then completely forgot about it until it was mentioned on the latest UK Anime livestream, but someone other than MVM has the UK rights to Higurashi:

Sadly we couldn't obtain the license. We did try to get it, but unfortunately it won't be an MVM release.

You'd think the way we've worded it, it would be pretty obvious another distributor has acquired the rights.

I'd bet on the licencor being Universal UK considering their string of anime releases, and the fact that Universal/Sony released Higurashi Rei in Australia this December

What’s coming next for Manga UK in 2017?

Well, we’re kicking off 2017 with two really great theatrical releases – Ghost in the Shell on January 25th and Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions on February 1st – currently both releases are in over 100 cinemas nationwide but expect more to be added early next year. In addition, we also have the highly anticipated In This Corner of the World which will also be released in cinemas. On top of those we’ve also picked up some other great licenses that I’m excited to share with you all after Christmas! Keep an eye out for our website as we'll also be re-launching it next year with a new, cool, bespoke look and much better functionally. That's just a little teaser for now but I guarantee you a lot of cool stuff is coming next year, so make sure you stay up to date by following us on Facebook and Twitter!

I know this is an odd question to ask, but how well did the Slayers franchise sell for you? Curious if it was popular in the UK
It did ok, not terrible, but not great. We were hoping it would have done better.
