I made a list a while back but some of those VAs are now inactive.

I'm guessing this won't be outsourced to Headline in New York, so it'll be recorded at Seraphim Digital.

The probability of aliases being used will most likely end up being very high... but my fantasy cast:

      (notable new characters)
      Annelotte: Emily Neves
      Shigi: Genevieve Simmons
      Yuit: Brittney Karbowski
      Mirim: Cynthia Martinez
      Luna Luna: Jessica Boone
      Branwen: Stephanie Young
      Liliana: Tiffany Grant
      Lyla: Hilary Haag

      (notable returning characters)
      Claudette: Shelley Calene-Black
      Elina: Maggie Flecknoe
      Maria (Leina): Carli Mosier
      Ymir: Monica Rial
      Melona: Luci Christian
      Risty: Jamie Marchi

      Narrator: Elizabeth Bunch

A couple of these VAs have never worked on a Seraphim dub of course but never say never right? Especially since this is a show some Houston VAs in Seraphim's talent pool might back out of completely (their talent pool is already pretty small), so it could be an opportunity to bring in some Dallas VAs who are have experience dubbing this genre.

Guess it'll depend on the ADR Director (most likely Foster or Ayres) and whether he wants to expand his options or play it safe with his personal favorites he usually casts...

Excuse my startling ignorance, but what show is this? (In other words, if you could edit your post title to indicate it, please...) [edit: thanks]

          ...

But on a personal and general (directed at all posters) note, since this is such a rare time I'll post to this thread:

I'm struck how most of you guys who regularly use this thread use it primarily as a sort of prediction game, trying as much to deliberately guess the actors you expect to show up as to casting the ones you'd simply like to see--but which in any case you'd expect from the talent group most likely involved. Nothing inappropriate about it, and I can hardly comment since I don't participate, but it reminds me that when "fantasy dub" threads first began, they were often enough just that--fantasy--and not the "fantasy football" mold it is now where logic is the overriding factor. The "game", as even I once sporadically played it, was often about taking either an unlicensed show and running it through various studios (which does still happen, I concede) or more likely taking a show with an existing dub and trying it out with a whole different talent group, across the country, wherever, whether the actors still worked or not, or were even still alive, really. You know, fantasy.

Really more curious than anything. Is the prediction game more interesting than just, well, playing around? Consider this a friendly polling effort of your local ET administration...to serve you better. Or something.

I use it for my own choices. And if they come true, then cool. I enjoy doing it either way, and do go with a complete fantasy route when the idea comes up. It's just nice to not only get to throw out my own ideas, but then see if the directors in charge determined that any of the same people would be right for the roles, after getting to judge from actual auditions rather than simply past work. Plus, having the constraints of a single talent pool to work with presents an extra challenge that can be more interesting than just choosing whoever I most want.

Since [email protected] seems to be getting a dub in the future, I wouldn't be surprised if Funi picked up the main series down the line. This is under the impression they'll dub at least the insert songs.

Any bets on a potential GuP dub by Sentai?

from the World of Tanks forum,

"I mentioned this in an earlier post, but the fact that this is a Sentai Filmworks op is already working against them. They can't really call upon the legion of actresses working for Funimation, and they tend to outsource to California only when an extraordinary case like the Persona 4 anime arises. With the relatively small pool of actresses they can readily call on, some of them will have to take on multiple roles out of sheer necessity (Monica Rial, Brittney Karbowski, and Luci Christian are three I know off the top of my head who definitely have the range needed to handle multiple characters), but even taking into consideration that a lot of those roles more or less amount to bit parts, it'll still be a bit much for Sentai to completely handle in-house, even if they call in every single actress on their roster.

The only way I can see a Girls und Panzer dub really working is if Sentai decides to deviate from its standard protocol and outsource it to California. Best chance of getting Amanda Winn Lee on the job, as well as other actresses with wide ranges (ex. Laura Bailey, Wendee Lee, Michelle Ruff, Kari Wahlgren) and various miscellaneous performers to fill in the gaps. In the end, it's a numbers game, and Sentai simply doesn't have the numbers needed to do it in-house. "

Just about everything said there is not true. Sentai does have a pretty good-size pool of actresses in Houston, big enough to fill out the cast (with some multicasting which is fine for this show), and there is no way Sentai will outsource the dub. That only happens if they license a sequel, OVA, or movie to something that was previously dubbed out-of-house like K-On and Fate/Stay Night: Ultimate Blade Works, and they will presumably do this when they license the third season of Rozen Maiden. But since Girls und Panzer is completely new that there is no chance of any outsourcing. The decision to dub this depends on how much expectation they have of this show selling with a dub compared to without a dub, and whether or not a BD release is available for licensing. While the talent pool isn't as large as in LA, it is still a pretty good size. Steven Foster and Chris Ayres knows a lot of actresses there, so the numbers game will not be a deciding factor in their decision.
