        * - Actor has done incidental voices in the dub,

Wow, quite the amount of actors we got in this dub of Saiki K. Not only do we have Jon Bailey but this is the first time to see Mick Wingert, Christopher Swindle and especially Nicolas Roye in an anime dub done at VSI Los Angeles given that they've been usual regulars at Studiopolis, particularly Nicolas.

Seems to me that VSI Los Angeles is slowly given Bang Zoom! a run for their money given that not only are they bringing in actors you normally don't see in a Bang Zoom! or Studiopolis dub (e.g. Trevor Devall, Jon Bailey, JP Karliak, Misty Lee, Stephanie McKeon) but I'm seeing a lot of the same folks that normally work at Studiopolis and especially Bang Zoom! slowly making appearances in their dubs this year, heck this is Jalen Cassell's first LA anime dub outside of the dubs he's done at Bang Zoom!, along with this being Kira Buckland and Lauren Landa's first VSI Los Angeles dub.

Even Netflix has been outsourcing some of their more recent anime titles (licensed and original titles) to that studio over their usual go to studios such as SDI Media/Spliced Bread (which did 4 dubs in 2019) and especially Bang Zoom! (which did 2 dubs in 2019 (not counting the new seasons of previous shows)).

Hopefully, we get to see more VSI Los Angeles anime dubs cause their dubs somewhat remind me of Studiopolis' anime dubs and the Pre-2011 Bang Zoom! dubs.

Interesting. Some relative unknowns in the leads, a supporting cast of stars, and only minor characters voiced by anime regulars. I suppose it feels a bit more like the kind of dub a Ghibli movie would get, so maybe that's the idea.

I do wonder how Netflix picks the studios to use, and I wonder if they'll start using more.

I'm especially curious how Sentai got to work on Saint Seiya. As far as I can tell, no other Netflix dub has used them. Maybe it's actually Toei that's producing the new dub.

Don't forget 7Seeds as that was another anime series that was outsourced to Sentai Studios in Houston besides Saint Seiya. I still am perplexed on Netflix's decision on outsourcing 7Seeds to Houston, but my guess is that as 7Seeds is based on an obscure Manga that not many people are familiar with it made sense to Netflix to outsource this to Houston.

Also since July of last year, Netflix signed a SAG-AFTRA Film and TV Contract which will changed on how Netflix original anime series will be dubbed in LA so more Union dubs. In fact, some of them have been confirmed as part of the Netflix dubbing agreement as shown in the SAG-AFTRA Database with NiNoKuni (at Bang Zoom!), along with the 2nd season of Dino Girl Gauko (at Studiopolis), Dragon Quest: You Story (at NYAV POST), Hi Score Girl (season 2) and Beastars (both at SDI/Spliced Bread). Turns out that the latter two series will be the first Union dub productions at SDI Media/Spliced Bread given that their previous productions had been Non-union.

Lastly, here is a breakthrough of the Netflix anime series and movies and the studios they outsourced them to:

I would imagine it was Toei that picked Sentai Studios to handle voice production for the CGI reboot. They've already worked with them in the past for the Harlock Space Pirate mocap film (back when they were Seraphim Digital), and I guess they just carried on with them for the anime redub (also, Bryson Baugus' post on Instagram implies it was Toei that cast him as Seiya). Maybe this production helped open the doors for Netflix to use them for certain projects.

But only for those projects, like I said other than the Saint Seiya CG reboot, 7Seeds, and the Saint Seiya redub I say Netflix will still continue utilizing LA for their anime series, unless if that specifc title is as obscure as 7Seeds and will outsource it to Sentai Studios in Houston once again.

Shut the front Door, Kari Wahlgren now is in Sword Art Online right now, talk about surprises.

This is the 2nd time that a Non-union series would later become a Union Dub production after Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga.
