Not exactly shocking material there, though I didn't expect Black Butler would be high as #4 on the "Top 25." Nice to see High School of the Dead sneak into things at #25--really makes me wish the book had better overall production values.

Otherwise, while not surprising, I find it depressing how much VIZ there is exploded over all those lists. Shame not to see companies like Vertical and Dark Horse (although...outside of GANTZ, their published pickings have been slim in terms of quantity). It'll be interesting to see how Q2 fares, now that the Del Rey/Kodansha monster has finally come to life.

The best argument I can make for a Maid-sama license rescue.

Alice in the Country of Hearts also deserves a license rescue based on this list. But with only 1 volume left in the series, I think Alice being rescued is unlikely.

I hope we will have more and more mangas from Yen Press in the top 25, this time we have 6!

None of the Top 10 are all that surprising, although I'm very happy to see One Piece doing that well - there always seems to be some sort of argument among folks about how bad it's failing (due to the piracy and the continued aftereffects of 4Kids's short-circuiting the franchise here). It's interesting to see Tokyopop titles continuing to appear on the list right up to the end. Hopefully this means that at least some of Tokyopop's non-BLU catalogue gets rescued by someone.

Shame that no titles from Dark Horse or Vertical charted.

Pretty much agree that a major factor in this list is the fact that the transfer from Del Rey to Kodansha resulted in some of Kodansha's bigger titles being missing from the list. Given the recent weekly New York Times manga bestseller list (in which three new volumes of manga published by Kodansha made the list, with Negima 29 finishing in first), I'm sure that things will be different once the Q2 list comes out.
