Well, it's official: 2012 is the year when Bandai Visual will bankrupt me.

      Oh, my. Tempting...

I'm going to have to pull out my old AnimEigo DVDs and see how well they upscale on current hardware; I think last time I watched them, I still had a CRT television...

The premium price and no sub combined is a showstopper for me. I would wait for the review before making a call. DYRL on the other hand is a day one purchase should they decide to release it.

Would've been nice to have the dub as well. The series isn't particularly nice to look at since many episodes suffer from terrible art/animation, but it's cool it's finally making it to BD. Not exactly a must purchase for me though.

HD versiosn of the new pachinko machine animation is pretty freakin' tempting though, along with the rest of the goodies included.

I wonder if they'll go so far as to provide a reprint of the exquisite Macross the Move Gold Book with the DYRL BD...

Well since my first exposure to Macross was only 10 years ago through Animeigo's DVD set, unlike many who grew up watching Robotech (even though i am an 80s kid). That's why i have no attachment to Robotech. Although if it was ever to get a BD release in the US then this is a first step in getting Macross at one point of time later on.

Hopefully they can get a subtitle track on it.

If they had English subs, I would get this set.
