Here's the performance. It was interesting hearing Miku sing in English.

^ Too bad it was so intelligible though. It was very hard to understand the song. A different song may have been a better choice. It was still cool to see Miku on Letterman.

I've heard some pretty decent English songs sung by Miku, but I admit, that was a bit rough. Poor Letterman, didn't really know how to react.

Thank you for posting the link on the thread.

News site Net Lab has carried an article on Miku's having appeared in the US TV show.

So when Mikudayō-san will appear in a TV programme in the USA?

            • Re: Hatsune Miku Expo

Well I went to Miku Expo NY over the weekend & I had a great time. Thanks to a combination of factors (mostly waiting in line for a long time), I ended up pretty much right in the front & center for both shows. Really amazing seeing the holograms that close - they all looked great. Didn't get any of the merch, but since the only thing I kind of wanted was the Halloween nendo (which was a tough get), I just decided to skip everything.

Found a setlist over on MikuFan (although for some of the songs they listed the EG title, so I've substituted the JP titles), along with a pretty good report from the LA shows.

01: Sharing The World feat. Hatsune Miku (English)
              02: Senbonzakura feat. Hatsune Miku
03: Kocchi Muite Baby feat. Hatsune Miku
04: Koi Iro Byoutou feat. Hatsune Miku
05: Colorful Melody feat Hatsune Miku & Kagamine Rin
06: Fire Flower feat. Kagamine Len
07: Migikata No Chou feat. Kagamine Len
              08: Melancholic feat. Kagamine Rin
              09: Kokoro feat. Kagamine Rin
10: Glass Wall feat. Hatsune Miku (English)
11: Torinoko City feat. Hatsune Miku
12: Musunde Hiraite Rasetsu to Mukuro feat. Hatsune Miku
13: Romeo To Cinderella feat. Hatsune Miku
14: Piano × Forte × Scandal feat. MEIKO
              15: Pane Dhiria feat. KAITO
              16: Parades feat. Hatsune Miku
              17: Poppippo feat. Hatsune Miku
18: Shiroi Yuki No Princess Wa feat. Hatsune Miku
19: Just Be Friends feat. Megurine Luka (English Version)
20: Luka Luka Night Fever feat. Megurine Luka
21: Himitsu Keisatsu feat. Hatsune Miku
              22: Yellow feat. Hatsune Miku
23: World Is Mine feat. Hatsune Miku
              24: Melt feat. Hatsune Miku
              -= Encore =-
25: Tell Your World feat. Hatsune Miku
26: Miku Miku Ni Shite Ageru feat. Hatsune Miku
              27: Starduster feat. Hatsune Miku

Gotta say I was a little disappointed to not get either Uraomote Lovers or Hatsune Miku No Gekishou, but Himitsu Keisatsu was a nice surprise (if you find the Saturday performance of this song on YouTube, I'm pretty easy to spot since I cracked some ultra orange glowsticks & went just about all out). I also would have preferred Roshin Yuukai or Aku No Musume over the Rin songs that they picked, but not that big a deal. And it would have been better (IMO) if the shows had a different setlist for each day. But my biggest complaint is the finale. For anybody who's watched some of the previous Japan concerts, Starduster is an amazing finale. But for the US show, they cut out the full vocaloid lineup "goodbye" & when the song ended, Miku exited the stage & that was it. If you haven't seen the other version, it's probably fine, but for me, the full lineup ending is so much better there's no comparison. Well, this ended up being the complaint paragraph, but it was still an amazing time despite these (mostly) minor quibbles.

Definitely started to get a little worn down over the course of both days though. Was starting to lose my voice on Friday; I was amazed that I made it through Saturday without too many issues. Most convention concerts end up being pretty short, so getting a full two hours on back-to-back days was quite the workout. Since I got in line so early on Saturday, I ended up being at the front of the line when most of the staff were walking around, so I got to have a nice conversation with Itoh a few hours before the show & that was pretty neat. Wish I had brought something cool to get signed. And apparently Itoh said in LA that they would be back again next year, so I'm hoping that comes to pass.

So, overall it was a great time, helped (as usual) by getting to hang out with a bunch of my anime nerd friends that I don't get to see all the time & good food & drinks in NY. Hope I have the chance to do it again next year. (Although I still have Babymetal & Perfume before I can close the books on this year. )

It's been a long wait, but I'm definitely looking forward to V3 Luka! A lot of people considered her original VB to be one of the more difficult ones to use, (though I never did have any problems, Japanese or English). Hopefully this encourages them to revisit her.

Pure awesomeness, more love for Luka! I've been working on a track but may decide to finalize it using Luka V4. Definitely nice to see the major upgrade to V4 and definitely fitting with Luka's new, elegant look. Can't wait to use the growling function :D That was definitely one of the harder expressions to pull off using external filtering/techniques, but now V4 should make it easier to work with.

Have you already thought up ideas about how to use growls in your vocaloid music tracks? ^_^

Since Hatsune Miku has her parody/horror alter ego Mikudayō, some people think Megurine Luka should have Lukadayō.

I wonder whether suits of Sega show an interest in this idea.
