A show about a girl that once served a great demon lord whose homeland is destroyed, and now she's living in the real world having become a pint-sized loli and struggling to make ends meet. Even in her current situation, she's quite determined to restore her homeland.

Once respected as the Demon Realm's second greatest authority, the Demon King's aide, Jahy, ruled her subjects with fear. But when a magical girl attacks and destroys a mystic gem containing massive power, the Demon Realm is destroyed.

Although she survives, Jahy has lost almost all of her powers and finds herself stranded in the human world with a childlike appearance. In order to gather more mystic gems so that she can permanently restore both her original form and the Demon Realm, Jahy will have to adjust to her new life and deal with everyday problems that she has never experienced before. From working to pay for living expenses to arguing with her landlord whenever her rent is late, the great Jahy will not be discouraged!

Episode 1

The Great Jahy is a Part-Timer!

And so it begins with Jahy living the poor life having been defeated and her homeland destroyed by a magical girl. And in this new world, she's living with the absolute minimum and working part-time as a waitress at a tavern owned by the landlord's sister. Furthermore, she's just a small fry for the most part as she doesn't have much energy to transform into her true form for very long. She tries to hide the truth from her boss, but even so the manager just loves her diminutive form. And then her landlord is quite persistent in making sure Jahy pays her rent, even going as far as to pin her down and chase after her after she skipped out on it, only for her sister to pay for it. Pretty crazy stuff that was as Jahy's attitude sure is a sight to behold, though she's not exactly in an ideal situation. It will be interesting to see what happens when the other characters arrive. I would have thought this would at best get one cour seeing that the manga is ongoing and hasn't gotten relatively far, but it's getting two cours, although it's 20 episodes instead of the usual 24 that explains the late start for this show.

As usual, the trial period rules are in effect, though this one has a shorter leash due to the late start this show got.

Episode 2

She's got everything, while she has nothing.

Here comes Druj, who is Jahy's right hand man, and while she also ended up on Earth after the Demon Realm collapsed, she's a successful company president and has wealth beyond anybody's imagination. Druj has a ritzy condo, a high-tech security system, and luxury that Jahy could never afford that includes buying a gemstone that Jahy doesn't even realize is not a mana crystal, quite the contrast to Jahy's impoverished life. Pretty funny stuff there, but I just don't get why Jahy can't just live with her, or at the very least Druj could buy her some clothes seeing that running around in an oversized t-shirt isn't exactly getting Jahy anywhere. At the very least, she got a mana crystal in a forest behind the apartment, but it came at a great cost, at least given her terrible financial situation. That was quite a nice introduction to Druj as she makes the show more balanced.

I'll give this show one more episode before making a decision as due to its late start, I will only give it that.

Episode 3

Use mana crystals wisely.

After finding a large mana crystal, Jahy quickly wastes all of its power for menial tasks. While it was a great star for her, unfortunately she ought to know better than to use it like that. And then Druj just so happens to pass by the restaurant and Jahy treats her to a meal, and Druj eats quite a lot of izakaya faire there to run up a bill worth three days of salary. As motivated as she is to make in this world, Jahy continues to be an idiot there as her air of superiority is getting her into a lot of bad situations, and it doesn't even cross her mind to ask Druj to just live with her seeing that they are both extremely close acquaintances and Druj is more than willing to help, but Jahy's pride prevents her from doing it.

Episode 4

She'll always be #3.

Here comes Saurva, who has played third fiddle to the demon lord and Jahy, and she doesn't exactly have the brightest mind. She's trying to ruin Jahy's reputation by posing as her, but she inadvertently helps it instead not realizing that she doesn't pay rent, and that she ends up covering for Jahy when she ends up oversleeping. While Jahy is quite the klutz, Saurva is even more so, and it was quite hilarious to see her attempts at bringing Jahy to her knees backfiring so badly.

Episode 5

Beware of magical girls.

And here comes the one who destroyed the demonic realm. No, not that crossdresser that ends up being taken into custody by the police. But the magical girl with quite the mean streak there as she found Jahy sick and in bed when she detected a mana crystal there. And while Jahy is a demon, even she catches colds. But while the girl claims to be there on behalf of justice, she doesn't realize she intruded, which the landlord doesn't exactly take very well. Things sure are blown out of proportion there when the magical girl, who is supposed to be on the side of justice, looks far more like a villain than the villain she was tasked with stopping.

Episode 6

Drinking the night away.

The magical girl's luck sure is a sight to behold there, whether it be falling into manholes, getting struck by a falling flower pot, or getting pecked by birds it's down in the dumps. But when it comes to taking mana crystals that's another story entirely as she sneaks up on Jahy seeing that her real life appearance is quite different from her magical girl form. So with that mana crystal gone, Jahy is just chugging down on booze and drowning in her sorrows. But the landlord really cheers her up, and the two party as if nothing's wrong. Then they fall asleep on the floor on the tavern with the owner amused at everything that just went down. Quite a silly resolution here, but in any case Jahy really needed that, but more than anything she needs to start thinking things through as her own pride and thick-headedness got her into this mess.
