    Episode 1

    Maid to order.

So it begins with Tohru becoming a maid at the made cafe, going overboard with her spell to make the omrice tasty and adding something that doesn't look fit for human consumption on it, and bringing in a lot of customer traffic because of it. And then comes Ilulu, the busty dragon whose inclusion caused quite a lot of controversy as she and Tohru battle it out and is none to pleased that she's living with the humans. And then Ilulu comes to Kobayashi on her way home from work. It's great to finally see these dragons again, and the fact that KyoAni pulled through to get this show out after the terrible fire that killed the first season director Yasuhiro Takemoto is quite a huge accomplishment. In any case, KyoAni is slowly getting back on their feet as they have been through quite a lot the past two years between the fire and the pandemic.

Not to mention the fact that KyoAni is actually going to adapt that chapter of Dragon Maid. 😈

Love that Ishihara is paying tribute to his friend by giving him "Series Director" credit for this season.

          Re: Episode 1

Interestinly enough the appearance of Ilulu is around the time I stopped reading the manga and became worried about the series pushing things. Still the part with the maids was fun. Especially with the whole Shadow King thing.

            Episode 2

            It's time to man up.

Kobayashi has been living like a tomboy, and now she's actually turned into a man courtesy of Ilulu, and Tohru gets all fanservicey. But of course, that didn't last very long. As it turns out, Ilulu actually wants to be friends with humans, but a dragon hunter is in the way, and not to mention other dragons don't endorse it, and not to mention her parents were killed by humans. But those guys are exceptions and not the rule as Kobayashi is nothing like those bad apples. So thanks to Tohru, Ilulu is saved and they start living together, and it's quite amusing to see Ilulu trying to fit in, in more than one way. Not to mention, those hands of her's as they appear to be amputated when in fact they are made of a bazillion or so tiny hands. This season is far more fanservicey seeing that the first season it was pretty much limited to Lucoa, but now Ilulu is here, all while Tohru also takes part in it.

More specifically, a dragon from the Harmony faction.

                Episode 3

                Coming over to play.

And now an episode that focuses on Saikawa and Kanna's other friends at school as they get their first look at Ilulu. Pretty amusing to see Saikawa going through all this with a straight face as her interaction with Ilulu is pretty amusing. And then Tohru tries to figure out what maid outfit to dress Kobayashi in, and the end result is just the same one she's wearing. And then there's Tohru showing her affection for Kobayashi with all that merch, but that's just creepy. And while that's going on, Kanna and friends are playing a board game that was rigged. Another amusing episode that was going to show just how crazy things get with more dragons involved.

                  Episode 4

Dragons just want to have fun.

Elma sure writes code beautifully, though not exactly the most practical for doing the job. Then there's Tohru going on patrol with Sasakibe as together they are going overboard in rounding up the rulebreakers. Among them is Ryuu-san who is taught a lesson to not mess with a dragon seeing that he doesn't even stand a chance against a bear. And then the dragons go to the amusement park with Saikawa, and Georgie just so happens to be working there as mascot characters. From Kobayashi getting dizzy in the spinning cups ride to Saikawa being freaked out in the haunted house, and of course the Ferris wheel at sunset, there's no shortage of crazy stuff going on here. These dragons are all about having fun in their own way.

                    Episode 5

Thou shalt not worship a dragon goddess.

And now, an episode focusing on how Tohru met Elma back in their homeland. Elma came to a desert town hailed as a messenger of god as she belonged to the faction that promotes peace with humans. Tohru ratted her out knowing full well that Elma is a dragon and that people putting their faith in a dragon just feels wrong. And then Tohru learned that in the cult Elma belongs to, the followers would wage war against non-followers, and in a mad rage Tohru destroyed the temple built for Elma. But of course, that's all history now that those two are in the human world living very different lives. And then there's Ilulu as she gets a job working at a candy store run by Take's family, and it's pretty hilarious to see her boobs getting in the way of doing business. Nevertheless, it was great to see that she found something she really loves to do as she really likes to interact with children. It's all well and good seeing these dragons finding their way in the human world as it has plenty to offer to them.

                      Episode 6

                      Forget what you saw.

This time, the supporting cast gets all the focus as Kobayashi and Tohru don't have a bit part in this episode. First it's Lucoa, and the busty dragon just continues to make life so nerve-racking for Shouta. He is looking for any weak point, but doesn't find any, at least one that he can expose seeing that losing her home is just about the only thing that would subdue her. Then there's Fafnir as he's continuing to play video games despite being asked to temporarily leave as Takiya's parents are visiting and the two decide on that matter with a video game challenge. And then there's Kanna and Saikawa as they are walking home, and Elma appears in dragon form. But Kanna does a nice job in covering it up and telling Kanna that what she saw was just an illusion. Pretty amusing stuff once again going to show just how crazy the dragons are, and how the humans aren't exactly sure what hit them.

                        Episode 7

                        Give it a rest, already.

First off, Fafnir tries his hand at doujinshi and uses Lucoa as a model for his fanservicey creation for Comiket, and that leads to some pretty hilarious results. Then Kobayashi sleeps in since it is her day off, and Tohru gets the wrong idea of why she's sleeping as after all, people have all sorts of different sleeping habits. Tohru goes out and runs into Elma, who is buying sweets and Tohru makes a big fuss about it. Then Kanna ends up finding a fairy that wandered into this world, and that guy was trying hard to say hidden. But it's a good thing a dragon found him and not a human as they were able to send him back. Those dragons continue to be quirky and stuff leading to some pretty hilarious results going to show just how different things are in the human world as opposed to their original world as they approach things much differently.

                          Episode 8

                          Tits for tats or dads?

Father's Day is coming, but seeing how it sounds similar to tits in Japanese that Lucoa thinks it's Tits Day. Shouta decides to try and make a gift for this father through alchemy or some supernatural concoction, and expected on the first try it failed spectacularly. But he tries again after getting some encouragement from Takiya and it worked. Then Kobayashi comes down with a cold, but Tohru wasn't exactly being helpful as she tries to make some rice gruel, and ends up throwing all sorts of inappropriate ingredients in it. But by wiping her down and stuff Kobayashi feels much better. And then there's Ilulu finding a lost doll and sees herself like that doll determined to find its owner and return it. With some help from Take and Kobayashi that she returned it to its owner. Great to see that this show is certainly not afraid to be shameless within reason as it does a great job with that once again.

                            Episode 9

Whatever Elma wants, Elma gets... through fighting.

And now, an episode focused on Elma as she will go to great lengths to get what she wants, and making it needlessly difficult to do so. First off, she is none too pleased about the working conditions there, so she puts in a proposal to improve conditions there through her clairvoyance powers that leads to a stack of papers as thick as a dictionary. Her motivation for doing this is because she wants to get her hands on some limited sweets where she has to leave work early to get them. Well, it wasn't necessary to go through all that if that's all she wants as by simply asking her boss nicely he would have been more than happy to work around that. And then she and Tohru go out in the dragon realm with an intense battle for Elma to blow off some steam seeing that she hasn't forgotten what Tohru did to her back then. But the prize for winning this battle is just being treated to dinner by the loser. Again, if that's all she was after, then it wouldn't be too hard just to as Kobayashi seeing that she treated both of them anyway. Pretty amusing episode that was going to show that Elma doesn't realize that by simply asking for a favor that all this wouldn't have been necessary at all.

                              Episode 10

It's up to Kanna. New York, New York.

After having an argument with Kobayashi, Kanna runs away and ends up in New York City where she runs into Chloe, a rich girl from Minnesota who also ran away after having an argument with her father. Chloe was being pursued around town, but ultimately those mafia thugs were no match against a dragon. That was some adventure in the Big Apple there as Kanna made a friend across the Pacific, and it turns out that Tohru was watching this whole time, but it just wasn't right to get in the way. And then it's a hot day and Kanna finds fascination with ants, and manholes. And then comes a sudden downpour going to show that this is what summer in Japan is like. Great episode that was focused on Kanna, and that trip to the Big Apple was epic. Next time, things get serious much like how the first season ended as somebody is coming for the dragons.
