    Episode 1

    Back to the square one.

Now that Satoko has been granted the same powers as Rika and now has the drug behind Oyashiro's curse, it's back to the events of the first timeline where it involves Rena and her strained relationship with her parents. She's none too pleased that her father has been flirting with Rina and squandering money on her. But above all, she's upset at herself for not doing enough to stop him. And thus, Satoko's scheme starts off with injecting the curse into Rena, and she's hellbent on letting her father know how she's none too pleased about the situation. It's great to be back with this show as right off the bat, Oyashiro's curse rears its ugly head. And with that, it's onto the next episode as this season premieres with two episodes.

      Episode 2

      Rest in pieces.

And just like in the last arc of the original series, Rena brutally kills Rina, hacking her up into pieces and throwing them into a place where nobody can find them. All this going according to Satoko's plan. While Rina from the original series was bitchy and had it coming, this version isn't as mean and nasty, though she's still just as manipulative. In any case, what Rena did was pretty cruel, and now she has attracted the attention of Oishi as he's onto her. So after getting over the hump, it's back to June 1983 where this time Satoko is the one pulling the strings. How this helps her accomplish her goal of getting Rika to stay confined to Hinamizawa remains to be seen, but in any case Satoko is up to her nasty tricks again, and Rena's murder of Rina is the first of several history-altering events.

        Episode 3

        Suicide squad.

And then the events of the first arc play out with the cotton drifting festival, then Rena's murder suicide that Keiichi miraculously survives, and with what transpired Rika kills herself. With Satoko failing her mission this time, she kills herself, and now it's back to square one again as Satoko is still searching for the right way to make it through June 1983 to shape Rika exactly the way she wants it. Pretty brutal and gruesome there, but it was inevitably going to happen.

          Episode 4

          Armed and dangerous.

Satoko's next scheme involves repairing his relationship with her uncle by having him rake in the dough when he wins the horse race due to her knowledge from another timeline. That was simply a cover so that she can use part of the winnings to buy a gun from a black market arms dealer from somebody his uncle has connections to. And in preparation to carry out her scheme, she's practicing with a toy gun and has her syringes ready. Lots of buildup here going to show just how determined Satoko is to get Rika to submit.

            Episode 5

            Tazed and confused.

Satoko is getting ready to strike now that she has a gun and has gotten some training shooting that weapon, and now she's going further by sabotaging the curry during cooking class. That's followed by Satoko getting into Mion's head that Keiichi and Shion are up to something together. And the the events of the second arc are played through, and here Mion tazes her twin sister before choking her, and then she uses it on her granny, actions she would later come to regret. Things are getting quite serious here as Mion has really done it now. What Satoko does, that remains to be seen.

              Episode 6

              This really is the pits.

This episode is a gruesome reminder of why the original series was so hard to watch as that fingernail ripping torture was so painful to watch. Mion is an expert when it comes to torturing people and getting them to submit. Then Mion kills Rika and throws her corpse down a latrine, and when Satoko finds out about what happened to Rika, she goes crazy, first shooting Mion in retaliation, and then herself. Pretty violent episode that was that was commonplace in the first season of the original series. Hopefully Satoko has something better in mind when she respawns.

                Episode 7

The whole village is against her.

And now, it's onto the next time loop where more pieces of information get revealed, and in particular it would be bad if Satoko were to die before Rika does. As part of her plan, Satoko decides to live with Teppei despite being all sorts of bad news for her, and tries to gain sympathy from Rika with her move. In doing so, Satoko lets her abusive uncle know that she's being bullied by all of Hinamizawa. Quite a daring move that is, but whether or not it pays off remains to be seen.

                  Episode 8

                  Who's doing the abusing now?

So as the third timeline rolls along, this is exactly why the child welfare services saw no reason to intervene as there is no abuse. Satoko is manipulating the situation here as she appears to be abusive, but it's all part of her grand scheme. Eua sure is enjoying everything that's going down from the safety of her own dimension as Satoko is making Teppei look like such a fool, all while getting in everybody's heads. Pretty much it's setup for something big to go down as they did in the third timeline when Keiichi and friends held a protest.

                    Episode 9

                    The detective will do it.

And now, Satoko triggers the event that would lead to Oiishi killing everybody as she injected the Oyashiro drug into the detective, and that's how it all happened. She continues to make it appear that there's nothing bad going on between herself and Teppei. Pretty much, it's a behind-the-scenes look at what happened during the third timeline of Gou that led to everything that went down after that protest in front of the CWS building.

                      Episode 10

To kill or not to kill?

And Satoko has an inner struggle within a fragment of herself as the current iteration doesn't want to kill Teppei, but her other fragment does. So the two battle it out, and in the end the evil Satoko wins out. Satoko has really dug herself into a deep hole now as it's very hard to see her climbing out of it after everything she did. Things are most certainly not heading towards a good ending with the way things are going now that the evil version is the real version.

                        Episode 11

                        They're all gonna die.

And just like that, Satoko carries out her plan to break Rika's mind before killing herself to finish the job. Satoko kills Teppei, then brings Keiichi over to her house and kill him, while making it look like it was Keiichi who murdered her uncle on Rika's orders. Then the Oyashiro drug activates leading the detective to kill Rika at the festival before Satoko comes in and kill him. And once all the destruction is done, Satoko kills herself leaving only Rena alive. Quite a twisted scheme that was and what it all leads to remains to be seen.

                          Episode 12

                          The pieces are coming together.

The endgame is here as there's a holy sword that can kill somebody who lives in looks that Satoko steals. Little did she know that it left behind a shard that Rika finds. And then Rika is killed again and again, and Eua sure is enjoying herself seeing Satoko and Rika get killed so many times. But it looks like the jig is up as Hanyuu has found Eua and is out to settle the score seeing that Satoko has lost her mind. It will be interesting to see where this leads to as Satoko has lost her mind.

                            Held at gunpoint, again.

And with that, Hanyuu knows exactly what Satoko has been up to as she continues her murder-suicide of Rika showing scenes that were previously shown in the first season, from Rika's stomach being ripped out to and all. And then comes the scene that episode 17 ended on, with Satoko's birthday party where this time Rika gives Satoko an actual present instead of a trap knowing full well what she was expecting. And then it ends with Satoko holding Rika at gunpoint. Last time this happened she didn't pull the trigger, but I got the feeling she will this time around.

                              Episode 14

                              A fight to the death.

And now, this has become more of a fighting game than a horror story as now, Rika is fighting back against Satoko, and likewise Hanyuu is doing the same against Eua. Satoko pulls the trigger to kill Rika, then herself. Then they enter another time loop where Satoko does the same thing, and again and again. And then Rika fights back using Rena's cleaver against Satoko's baseball bat, and it ends with Satoko winning again to continue this cycle of pain. But then Rika powers up like a Super Saiyan, and likewise Satoko does to leading to a DBZ-style battle. And then it becomes a struggle for the sword as Rika could end this once and for all by taking the sword and erasing Satoko's existence, and after stumbling through several dimensions and places, Rika has it. Eua has been loving every minute of it seeing that only through a miracle will she lose, but a miracle is about to happen. One more episode left to go as Rika and Satoko settle things once and for all.
