    Episode 12

In the end, the future refused to change.

All that work got Takemichi his girlfriend back, but unfortunately not for long. While he did save Draken, there's a much bigger menace out there whose running Toman with an iron fist in Kisaki, and Akkun ends up killing Hina out of orders from Kisaki that are absolute. It didn't help that according to Hina, Takemichi dumped her. So with that, it's back to the past as this time, he's determined to become the head of Toman. Tough break that was, but I had a feeling something was off about this.

      Kisaki must die.

And to start off the second half of this show, a new ending, though the opening remains the same. So after attending Hinata's funeral and learning that Akkun was forced by Kisaki to kill her, Takemichi now going back into the past in order to become the new leader of Toman and to get Kisaki out of town. So to begin things with this trip back to the past, Takemichi is in the bath house with his friends, a rather humorous start to this. Pretty depressing episode that was, but at least Takemichi has a renewed sense of purpose after experiencing all these setbacks.

        Welcome to Toman.

Kisaki was somebody Takemichi never met and knew nothing about, but he suddenly appears in front of him and sees firsthand how much of a bastard he is. While it wasn't the best of ideas to go and suckerpunch him, it goes to show just how much of a menace he is. As it turns out, Mikey doesn't like Kisaki, but he sees him as needed if their gang is going to stand a chance again Valhalla. So Mikey makes a deal with Takemichi in that he will kick Kisaki out of Toman if he brings Baji, one of the founding members of the gang, back from Valhalla, and is welcomed as a new member of Toman. Not going to be an easy task to do seeing just how pissed off Baji is with Toman, but at least he has a pathway to ensuring that Kisaki never bothers them again.

          Behind enemy lines.

Getting Baji back now looks like an impossible task for Takemichi as he's fully on-board with Valhalla ready to get revenge against Toman. And then there's Kazutora, the sixth founder of Toman that Mikey never told him about, but is there in the photo. Kazutora ended up being thrown into juvenile hall thanks to a certain someone, and he's someone who has been through quite a lot and is dependent on Baji. So Takemichi is taken to Valhalla's secret hideout where he witnesses Baji's test of faith to beat up one of the leaders, and it's quite painful to watch. Things are quite dire for Takemichi as now he has revealed himself to the enemy, and they are not exactly pleased about it, and it will be interesting to see what comes of this.

            Episode 16

Right, blame it all on him.

And now, it's backstory time that reveals what led Kazutora and Keisuke to defecting from Toman and joining Valhalla. Kazutora was one of the founding members of Toman, but then everything changed when Mikey destroyed his own motorcycle in a gang skirmish. And then Kazutora came up with the scheme to steal the latest model and give it to him for his birthday, but little did he know that the place he was stealing it from was owned by Mikey's big brother Shinichiro. Keisuke tried to talk him out of stealing it, and he should have spoken up about it. But in the end he went along with this delusional plan and not only did they get caught, but Kazutora ended up killing Mikey's big brother without knowing who he is. So it's no wonder why Kazutora is no longer recognized as a founder, but he only has himself to blame for this mess as even without knowing who he was dealing with, stealing is just a bad idea. And as for Baji, Mikey wants him to return seeing that he's very sorry for what happened and he wants to reconcile with him, but that's going to be quite difficult now that he has joined the enemy.

              Episode 17

The old Valhalla is the new Toman.

As it turns out, Baji joins Valhalla not to look out for Kazutora, but to keep a close watch on Kisaki as it turns out, he's the one known as the headless leader of Valhalla, and is manipulating Toman from behind the scenes. Baji joins them in order to expose him for the villain that he is, and the guy he beat up to pass the ritual, Chifuyu, lends some assistance. Even knowing Baji's intentions, convincing Mikey is going to be quite difficult. And then back in the present, Draken explains exactly what happened in that Valhalla defeated Toman and in truth the Toman today is the gang that started out as Valhalla, all while Mikey kills Kazutora as part of the ritual to join Valhalla. No wonder Kisaki is dangerous as he's a mole for Valhalla secretly plotting to take down the old Toman and install his version of the game in its place. I knew that Kisaki was bad news, but just how sinister he was, that pretty much confirms how evil he is.

                Build back better with Baji.

Now that Takemichi knows just what he's up against, he either must convince Baji to return to Mikey or to call off the Bloody Halloween war between Toman and Valhalla, which is when Valhalla would become the new Toman led by Kisaki, and Mikey would drift into darkness after killing Kazutora and seeing Baji killed not long after. He couldn't convince Baji, and Mike is still going through with the war, but he did make one change that could prove to be the difference as now, Mikey will fight this war to bring Baji back to Toman rather than what he had in mind. Certainly it improves the chances that Kisaki gets ratted out and ran out of town, but it's going to be quite an uphill battle even so. That was a great episode going to show that while Takemichi might not get exactly what he wants, he did at least get through to Mikey in some way.

                  Episode 19

Kill an enemy, become a hero.

The brawl is on as Draken and Hanma square off, while Mikey and Kazutora are in each other's throats. But Kazutora has two of his followers fighting with him to make it a 3-on-1 battle and it looked like he was going to have his way with his henchmen holding Mikey down while Kazutora uses that metal pipe. But Mikey is such a freak of nature able to withstand all that and fight back. And then comes the question as Kazutora responds by saying that killing an enemy makes him a hero. Just one problem in that this enemy relationship needs to be a two-way street as while Kazutora sees Mikey as an enemy, not so much the other way around. And now comes the fateful moment that broke Mikey that led Toman down the path of darkness. The fight was pretty disappointing for the most part largely because Baji wasn't there, but in any case the moment of truth is coming.

Not going down without a fight.

Just when the situation looked dire and Kisaki was about to do what Takemichi was trying to put a stop to, in comes Baji to stick it to Kisaki. But then Kazutora comes in and stabs Baji in the back causing him to bleed to death. Poor Chifuyu doesn't know what to do in light of this as he knew what Baji had been up to. Nevertheless, things aren't looking great for Takemichi, but at least Baji left a huge impact there in his fight against Kisaki. Pretty brutal way for Baji to go out after kicking a lot of butt in the fight, all to be taken down by a blindside and underhanded attack.

                      Don't blame him.

It turns out that Baji still had a little bit of fight left in him after taking that blindside blow from Kazutora. He manages to talk Mikey out of killing Kazutora by deflecting the blame of his death to being a suicide instead. Pretty much, things went down as it did in the original timeline Takemichi was trying to steer away from, but he managed to get Mikey to not to go through with killing Kazutora. He beat him up good, but it was that charm that Takemichi picked up at the shrine that finally convinced Mikey that it was not in his best interest to kill the disgraced founding member of Toman. Pretty sad and emotional episode that was, and Kisaki still ends up the big winner in this brawl, but now Takemichi has a chance to fight back with Mikey having been brought to his senses, all while learning some valuable stuff from Baji in his dying breath. So it will be interesting to see what happens next now that Takemichi has his foot in the door and is being entrusted with being a leader at Toman.

                        Episode 22

                        Remember what they stand for.

This episode is all about Baji's background as he became close friends with Chifuyu, and realizing how bad it would be to held back that it got him to take studying more seriously. And then the formation of Toman is explained as the vision is to help out others, something that was lost through Kisaki and all this fighting going on. And to symbolize their togetherness, they pinched in to buy a special charm that is now in Takemichi's possession. So back in the present, the cops are arriving at the junkyard, and Kazutora stays behind with Baji as he is owning up to his crimes and accepting his jail sentence vowing to become a better person, and it's that change of heart that has Mikey forgiving him. So with that, the Valhalla arc has ended and it results in Baji dying and Kazutora being arrested, but in the end Mikey does not go down that path of darkness that led to Toman becoming the evil gang they ended up becoming.

                          Episode 23

                          Welcome to Toman!

After a chaotic and emotional sequence of events, it's a breather episode as Kazutora is in jail willing to do everything he can to atone for crimes as a member of Toman now in name only, all while Draken brings Takemichi to the brothel where he lives to set up an important meeting with Mikey. And then Emma is seen hanging out with Mikey with Takemichi tailing them seeing that he thought that Draken is the one Emma is in love with. But it turns out that Emma is Mikey's half-sister and they were celebrating her birthday. And then Takemichi is called by Mitsuya to come to the sewing club room as it turns out that he is the president of the sewing club, which is quite ironic given his gangster ties. And then comes the Toman gathering to introduce Takemichi as a new member, all while Hanma of Valhalla is there as well. Quite a nice way to unwind after last week's emotional tearjerker. One more episode left to go as it's all about setting up the next arc for a second season that's inevitable given that manga sales went through the roof when this show came out.
