To serve and protect, just not here.

And the Shield Hero cast joins the school, though that transfer student is not Naofumi being placed in the other class. That would be Megumin's cat. Naofumi and Wilhelm sure get along together all while Filo is in the stable. Raphtalia is always on guard, but this is not the place to be that way. And that baseball game is pretty hilarious, especially with Darkness taking one for the team, though she doesn't gets on base if she leaned into the pitch. Quite a nice way to get back into this show that should be called Isekai Quintet, but it's staying at four much like how the Big Ten is still the Big Ten despite having more than 10 teams.

Keep your hands off the booze!

Kazuma should know better than to get his hands on the Roswaal's prized collection of booze seeing that he's underaged, but he's helping three of Tanya's subordinates and Aqua get it from the principal's office. And awaiting them are traps, but also those giant frogs that will leave those who get sucked by it left legs-up. So to detention for these guys who thought they could get their hands on some booze and drink during class. And then we get the openings and endings, but even though the Shield Hero has joined, they are nowhere to be found seeing that this show is still called Isekai Quartet despite having five sets of isekaied characters in this season.

        Detention is doom.

For stealing the booze, those five are in detention, and it's just way too much for Kazuma and Aqua as it's a scary thing in this school. So lesson learned and the punishment is not at all pleasant, which is what awaits Megumin after she causes trouble that leads to a flood that would have wiped out the school if it weren't for Aqua and company at the scene. Detention isn't such a bad thing, but when it involves having to put up with a giant roach, all bets are off about that.

          Study up, or else...

It's time for exams, and while everybody is hard at work studying, not so much with Ainz and Aqua. Aqua is naturally dumb, but with Ainz, he's freezing time so that he can cheat his way But his loyalty to his servant was too much to overcome. While Aqua could also move being a god, she's just is terrible at hiding her intentions, so of course she would easily get caught by Roswaal when time unfreezes. Not exactly the written part of the Chuunin Exam in Naruto where the point of the test is to cheat without getting caught, but it feels somewhat like that.

            For the love of sloth...

In an unusual turn of events, here comes the first antagonist to appear in this show (but not first villain as Tanya and Ainz are villains in their shows) in Betelgeuse, and he's just as creepy as I remember the Archbishop of Sloth to be. It's Valentine's Day, and that means making lots of chocolates. Weiss sure is desperate for them as he even tries to perfect the art of begging for them. Anyway, that was quite an amusing way to bring Betelgeuse into the fold here being all crazy about love, and he managed to get Albedo on-board with it.

              For the love of dodgeball...

There's a war over which condiment is best on croquettes between salt, ketchup, and mayo. So to decide this there's a dodgeball contest, and to even out the teams the Shield Hero party joins the game. And as expected craziness ensues as guys are using all sorts of magical tricks to avoid getting hit, except of course for Darkness as this game was made for her. So it ends in a stalemate as Tanya pops the ball by accident. Good to see Naofumi and company finally getting more involved.

                Let's get physical.

It's time for physicals, and of course there would be quite a lot of drama involved here, especially with the Overlord characters as there are the cross-dressing twins, as well as Albedo wanting to see her beloved Ainz strip down to his bones. Pretty amusing stuff once again as these guys need to really be in shape for whatever is thrown their way.

                  Work hard, eat hard.

Visha is working at part time jobs in different places from the meat shop to the department store. She is hellbent on trying out that special menu item at the school's cafeteria that runs her out 30,000 yen, which could buy a student meals for an entire month. So after everybody works hard, Visha orders it, and it is a super-sized version of what the school typically serves, enough to feed the class. The fact that something exists at a school cafeteria is just crazy, but Visha doesn't seem to mind.

Let's see how this plays out.

The culture festival is coming up, and the class will be doing a play that was obviously hinted by the opening theme song with their Broadway-like theatrical production. And Filo finally gets some focus here as she's going around making friends and experiencing the various antics of the characters. And then there's Lupusregina there at the end acting like an idiot and that was priceless as she's made for the stage. Just one problem in that she can't get her story straight. It should be great to see how things play out with this play.

                      Episode 10

                      Rise to the challenge.

Aqua has a bit of adversity there as she sets up a sign only for some unknown force to demolish it, and she's crying over spilled milk there. And there's nothing like that starting over from zero scene that Rem made famous to help the dimwitted goddess out. And Roswaal is just standing there viewing this as a challenge. That's something that those guys will have to overcome themselves.

                        Episode 11

These heroes are overexcited but underly cautious.

And look who dropped by as now it's Isekai Sextet as the two leads from Cautious Hero drop by. Of course Seiya doesn't go in being cautious with just about everything, so too bad for Rista. So with that, preparations are complete and it's showtime, not realizing that there's something out there getting ready to crash the party. So the play is Cinderella with Ram as Cinderlla and Rem as the prince, and with Megumin as the fairy godmother, things are bound to get crazy. One more episode left as seeing Seiya and Rista appear made my day.

                          Re: Episode 11

This remains a very fun series, though it's been not quite up to the first season, but it's been getting better and the appearance of Seiya and Ristarte from Cautious Hero is just a great cameo. Keeping with the theme of that show, we actually see that Seiya was right, that there is something dangerous going on at the festival: The return of the Destroyer!! For those who don't know, this was a massive mobile fortress that appeared in the finale of the 1st season of Konosuba, and also the finale of the first season of Isekai Quartet.

We end up with a hodgepodge of supporting characters having to take on the destroyer, starting with Albedo, Aqua, Emilia (with Puck), and Visha (aka Lt. Viktoriya Ivanova Serebtyakov), because the rest of the cast is ordered by Sensei Roswaal to perform their plays. Oh, and Raphtalia and Filo from The Rising of the Shield Hero, are on their way as well.

I agree with Buckeye: The cameo of Seiya and Rista is just a grin-inducing highlight.
My Avatar: The lovely Mikuru Asahina from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Why do I stick with her in a world of constantly changing avatars? Because:
                          1) Her friendly, playful attitude in that picture, (despite being forced unwillingly into cosplay), reflects my own friendly, playful personality;
                          2) Mikuru-chan is an excellent combo of smoking hot and super sweet cuteness; and
                          3) It makes it easiier for me to find my own posts in threads.

                            Episode 12 (Season 2 Finale)

                            Double feature.

While Ram and company put on their play of Cinderella, the other girls are battling the giant robotic spider that just doesn't seem to want to go down. From Albedo putting on her best JoJo impression to Filo's chocobo kicks, and even getting hit by its own missiles, that didn't do much damage. But for once, Aqua isn't useless turning that thing into a hunk of junk. All while the play ends up being crazy. And with that, another season is in the works as more characters from Kadokawa isekai shows are bound to show up, while Seiya and Rista should end up transferring. Pretty nice way to end this going to show that these guys know how to put on a performance no matter the situation.

Overall, this show continues to do everything that made the first season so great with a colorful cast of characters taken from Kadokawa isekai shows, as well as great jokes that fit to the personalities of the characters in the show. Just about the only thing that's disappointing from this season is that the Shield Hero and Cautious Hero cast didn't big roles that I was hoping for, but hopefully things will change with the third season. In all, it continues to be a fun way to see all these characters from different shows interacting.

And now for something completely different: Ram as a Cinderella who makes you feel sorry for the evil stepsisters. Also,

                              "New Season Coming Soon".

The result is an episode chock full of hilarity and good news. The notion of all these casts interacting is just priceless. On the one hand we have the supporting ladies, led by Albedo, Aqua, Visha and Emelia (with Puck), with help from Raphtalia and Filo, taking on the Destroyer with them showing how badass they all are. Lots of fun here.

But for me, the play's the thing. And what a play! Ram completely remains Ram as she plays Cinderella, and she eats scenery like there's no tomorrow. Because by Ramerella instead of Cinderella, she's snarky, lazy and abusive throughout...until she gets to the ball, where she lords her beauty over her stepsisters....of course, this is fine with one of them, who's perfectly fine with having a bucket of water tossed on her. Yes, Darkness is one of the stepsisters, loving the abuse being tossed on her. Throw in Megumin as the Fairy Godmother, and the play's just priceless humor (sadly, Rem is Rem in her role as the prince, meaning she plays as the prince, doing a good job of the role, so Co-Best Girl doesn't get a chance to shine).

So with that, the Destroyer is defeated, with all the maidens getting turns to shine, with Aqua delivering the final blow, "God Blow" that is.

And, of course, nothing changes. The end credits consist of Death Knight clamoring in the empty auditorium for an encore (heh), which results in the curtains opening with Roswaal Next to a sign announcing that a new season will be coming soon.

So, great news! This series had a few uneven moments early, where it didn't quite matchup to the previous season, but it ended strong. This is just a fun, fun short that is highly recommended. Another season will be great!
