    私、能力は平均値でって言ったよね!

An isekai where an honors student is killed and reincarnated into another world wanting nothing more than to be an Average Jane. Problem is that average in that world is based of a heavily skewed distribution thanks to the elder dragon being an extreme outlier, thus making her much more powerful than the average human.

    Airs: Monday, October 7, 2019

    Studio: Project No. 9

When the eldest daughter of the Ascham household, Adele, turned ten, she remembered everything from her past life when she was hit with a strong headache. She was Kurihara Misato in her previous life, who died when she was 18 trying to help a little girl, consequently followed by an encounter with God. During their meeting, she pleaded to lead an average life with average skills. After all, her somewhat capable self has been burdened with all the expectations brought up to her. However, things don't just go quite as planned as she has to be careful not upping to the S-ranks accidentally if she wishes to maintain her desired average life.

    Episode 1

This is what it means to be average?

So it begins with Mile about to start her new life, but arriving sometime before school begins. She explores the town and meets her roommates-to-be in Mavis, Reina, and Pauline, Then the innkeeper's daughter goes missing and she meets them again and it turns out she wasn't in any danger. And finally, they end up as roommates at school. The explanation for how Mile got isekaied is pretty hilarious there, as well as how her request to be average ends up her being overpowered. If she had understood statistics (which she would be more than capable of in her previous life, but it looks like she didn't take any statistics courses while she was alive), she should have asked to be the median seeing that the elder dragon is an extreme outlier in this world that pulls up the average way up. Anyway, this figures to be one of those cute shows as Mile's expressions are priceless. But seeing how it's animated by a studio with a bad reputation that I'm keeping my expectations in check.

As usual, the trial period rules are in effect, and once I see how it shakes out compared to other shows this season, I'll make my decision.

      Episode 2

It ain't easy to be average.

Mile got herself into quite a bad situation as she wants to present herself as an average girl, but she's letting the heat of the moment get to her. From punishing that guy for calling her flat-chested to repairing the sword Mavis broke and turning it into a legendary weapon, as well as using all sorts of magic, Mile does realize truth will get out sooner or later, and that whole secret family technique angle won't exactly cut it for much longer. At the very least, she helped everybody complete the quest with flying colors. Pretty hilarious this show is, and Mile acting on the defensive is a sight to behold.

        Re: Episode 2

I am liking this show so far. In addition to the comedy, it has a sweetness to it as the girls interact and get to know each other. Mile overused the "secret family technique" excuse, but I found that funny as well since the other girls are obviously way past believing. It will be interesting to see how far Mile can go to be average while actually showing her power. One thing I really appreciated was the show going out of its way to demonstrate it was not just Mile saving the day every time. The improvement of the other girl's abilities is shown. Yes, it is thanks to Mile's training, but it is a detail I really like in a show that could otherwise just be a fluff piece.

Reina is best girl even in this version. Mile is bad at lying. At least she's not (above) average in that. I'm going to spend a lot of time being like "please adapt that part" even if in some cases such a part wouldn't be adapted until season 3 or higher.

Also Mile training the others so they'll be better and she won't stand out as much is a good idea and has fun results.

            A fun show.

I enjoyed the first episode, and the second is also a heckuva lot of fun, from 4th Wall breaking, to pop culture references. We have the story of a girl who was incredibly gifted, but whose gifts caused her (she blames) to have no fun, normal life. So, after dying heroically, she's reincarnated, with her asking the friendly deity to just make her average...which was taken literally, meaning that she's the average between the weakest and the strongest on the planet...resulting in her having about half the power of the super-ultra powerful dragon, the most powerful being on the planet.

OPed, but she don't want it! LOL!

All our girl wants is to have a normal life, having fun with friends. Result, lots of comedy, and after 2 episodes, it doesn't seem that the well is close to running dry.

This was fun and I'm hooked.
My Avatar: The lovely Mikuru Asahina from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Why do I stick with her in a world of constantly changing avatars? Because:
            1) Her friendly, playful attitude in that picture, (despite being forced unwillingly into cosplay), reflects my own friendly, playful personality;
            2) Mikuru-chan is an excellent combo of smoking hot and super sweet cuteness; and
            3) It makes it easiier for me to find my own posts in threads.
