An isekai show where this time, a kid is accompanied by his mother and it's her that's overpowered as hell.

    Airs: Friday, July 12, 2019

    Studio: J.C. Staff

    ANN Entry

    Crunchyroll

Just when Masato thought that a random survey conducted in school was over, he got involved in a secret Government scheme. As he was carried along with the flow, he ended up in a Game world! As if that wasn't enough, shockingly, his mother was there as well! It was a little different from a typical transported to another world setting, but after some bickering,

"Mom wants go on an adventure together with Maa-kun. Can mom become Maa-kun's companion?"

With that, Masato and Mamako began their adventure as a mother and son pair. They met Porta, a cute traveling merchant, and Wise, a regrettable philosopher. Along with their new party members, Masato and co. start on their journey.

    Episode 1

    Mom knows best.

Pretty quirky setup here as Masato gets isekaied as some experiment, and Mamako just so happens to tag along not wanting to have Masato out of her sight. This time, though, it's the mom that's the OP freakazoid and not Masato as she can make quick work out of a swarm of enemies with her two-hit attacks. Pretty funny stuff here, especially with those 8-bit eye catches. So here is the fourth isekai show this season, and so far it is clearly shaping up to be the best of them seeing that two of them the animators totally screwed up the adaptation, while the other one simply has weak source material. This one does do something different in making the mother the character of focus.

As usual, the trial rules apply, and given how crowded Fridays are that it will take some sorting through on my end.

      Re: Episode 1

Isekai MILF = Isekai MILF hentai doujinshi to follow. Loads of it.

Really good animation here. Masato's got a mom issue: His mom is super-adoring, supportive, loving and attentive...aka smothering. Her name is Mamako, and she's about to star in countless hentai MILF doujinshi.

As a result of responding to a survey where so many of the questions involved his relationship with his mother, Masato gets sent by government agent Shirase into a game world, where he's determined to man up and come home after a time in a manner to make his mother proud.

Problem is, his mom pops up right after he does. Oh, and the OP stick has hit her, and keeps hitting her. She can take out just about anything with a swing from one sword and a swing from her other sword.

Mom also knows a lot more about why she and Masato are in this game, but guilts "Ma-kun" into not pursuing this line of questioning any further.

So with that, mom's in the party, and she'll be handling the interviews for the rest of the party.

Helicopter mothers having nothing on Mamako.

But she's hotter than hell, and the preview has her getting naked this week, and most important of all, she's not my mom.

But how much fun would this concept be if it went the full-blown envelope-pushing ecchi route like Seikon no Qwaser or Hybrid x Heart? Still, the show we do have seems to have a lot of possibilities, from both the helicopter mothering to game related humor. Heh, got to love it when they show the faces of the NPC as being incomplete (it is a Beta test, lol).

So, this looks like a keeper, Mamako looks like she came out of a hentai MILF anime (What? I don't know anything about such things! Oh, what's my avatar name?...oops), the animation quality is great and this looks promising.

      Meanwhile, dad is.....????

My Avatar: The lovely Mikuru Asahina from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Why do I stick with her in a world of constantly changing avatars? Because:
      1) Her friendly, playful attitude in that picture, (despite being forced unwillingly into cosplay), reflects my own friendly, playful personality;
      2) Mikuru-chan is an excellent combo of smoking hot and super sweet cuteness; and
      3) It makes it easiier for me to find my own posts in threads.

        Episode 2

        Girls wanted. Fanservice, too.

Two girls join the party after an interview process in which Porter's ability to carry so much stuff into that one bag of her's, and Wise essentially forced Masato to literally take a flyer on her. That Lina Inverse comparison is spot-on, but Wise won't take no for an answer. So as it turns out, the reason why Mamako was isekaied along with her son is that this game is designed to help mothers get closer to their children. And of course, there's plenty of censored fanservice to be found with that giant slime monster causing a wardrobe malfunction, as well as Wise's panties showing pretty frequently. So after a solid first episode, the second one was kind of a letdown seeing that I get the sense that this show is going to be more about the fanservice and harem tropiness more than anything.

You say that like Fanservice and harems are bad things.

          Re: Episode 2

Mama's wearing a thong....or was until it disintegrated.

          Hooray for slime monsters!!

And so Mama Mamako interviews the 3 great party members rejecting them all ( I love how she simply can't figure out what an elf is, and so rejects her).

But then Porter shows up, and can't fight as she's a non-combat class, and fellow testplayer, but she has what Mama Mamako (and there is ZERO way that Mamako's name is a coincidence) is looking for - Porter's a walking coupon book.

Next is Wise, and you have to love the Lina Inverse call out. Wise clues us in to what most probably realized: This game is about getting kids closer to their mothers.

And what better way to do that than to have your Mama get assaulted by a gigantic slime monster which disintegrates all Mamako's clothing...but not before you get to see her wearing T-back panties aka a thong.

So, we have Fanservice!! The only question is how serious the fan service is. Those lightbars of censorship have been getting carried away, a lot, lately, censoring things which have no need of censoring. We'll have to wait and see (pun intended) as to how risque the Fanservice actually gets.

This is a fun series, and the addition of solid Fanservice is a big plus, if that's what happened. Next up, onsen!

            Episode 3

            That's one hot mama.

Lots of fanservice in this episode as Mamako is trying on some outfits and puts on some risque ones in the process, all while everybody is bathing together in the hot springs bathing in milk. And while that's happening, there's some fight going on elsewhere. Not much that catches my attention in a good way here, but that scene with Wise hugging Porta is nice.

So it looks like this show has lost its momentum after a solid start, so it's very unlikely I'll stick with this show with Fridays just way too crowded this season. All four isekai shows this season have unfortunately been busts. I might give it another episode, but barring a drastic improvement, chances are it's going to get cut.

              Re: Episode 3

              Divine punishment....never mind.

The fun continues! And so does the Fan Service!! But also, some sweet motherly moments from Mamako, and not just of Masato, but Wise as well. Their quest brings them to Maman Village, where they're givent he quest of taking on the Empress of the Night, who has been demanding the sacrifice of the village's hunkiest guy, or else. First, we get armor tryouts, with Mamako modeling fun! Then hot springs, with Mamako bringing both girls in to join her a Masato in the bath. Lots of steam that might dissipate on AT-X and/or BD.

The result is a good bit of fun, as a number of tropes are played with, from bikini armor for female warriors to what happens to guys who accidently see a girl naked in the onsen. Well played, well played.

And then we finally get the truth which you hopefully had figured out, as had Masato: The Empress of Night is Wise's mom, a woman who spent all the family money on bar hosts, so much so that Wise's real name is Genya, after her mother's favorite host. Naturally a divorce took place, and Wise went willingly with her Dad, until mom comes back with this game to get back with Wise....until mom discovered how OP'd she was in the game, and went wild in the game world, so much so that she defeat's Shirase's attempt to delete her character.

Despite Wise swearing that she and her mother are through, Mamako manages to convince Wise that there still remains that bond with her mother within Wise, and that it must be there for the Empress as well.

Another fun episode, one which shows that there's actual heart to this series (at least for this episode), but one that will appeal to many a veteran gamer and also veterans of ecchi anime tropes. This show continues to improve and grow in different ways, continuing to have lots of fun at the expense of the MMO gaming genre.
