A half-length short about an otaku who happens to by a figure that's an actual living being.

    Airs: Saturday, April 6, 2019

Bouida Haruto, a hardcore otaku with no interest in 3D (real) women, once appreciated figures from afar, accepting that "if you get into them, there's no turning back." However, when Nona, a character he loved from an anime called "Girls→Planetary Investigation" had a figure of her released, he ended up purchasing it. And then that night, the figure of Nona somehow came to life, and a couple-like lifestyle between man and toy began.

    It's alive.

This is a pretty stupid show to say the least, but nevertheless it was amusing to see how Nona finds herself in unfamiliar territory, all while Haruto is trying to deal with all the shock of what just happened, from bullets into the sofa to taking off her top by accident, and other inappropriate things. It passes in terms of a short for now, but the real test is going to be what happens when the other characters enter the show.

Just FYI, CR just lists it as Amazing Stranger. As far as the show, it needs an infusion of the other characters to see whether it's worth watching, because that wasn't a very promising start.

      1) Her friendly, playful attitude in that picture, (despite being forced unwillingly into cosplay), reflects my own friendly, playful personality;
      2) Mikuru-chan is an excellent combo of smoking hot and super sweet cuteness; and

        Episode 2

Who wants to marry a figurine?

And Nona's alien friend Ozma joins her in Bouida's apartment as the two just continue to act clueless about the world. And then Bouida decides to enter into a marriage pact to make Nona his waifu, though making it an official marriage just isn't going to be easy, especially since Nona is watching out for him cheating on her. And things are off to a rough start when another girl comes by. This show just continues to pile on the stupidity and while some of it is amusing, some of it just gets really stale and annoying.

          Re: Episode 2

          Allow me to correct you.

Here's what happens: Bouida's managing to help Nona in her exploration quest. Things are going well until her "Earth Computer/aide" Ozma joins the two. Ozma is an informational specialist and has realized the truth: He(?) and Nona are figurines, but Nona overhears, and the truth is out, with Nona discovering/is shown, all the "resource material". A lot of fun here, "How'd you like it if you discovered your life was an anime?" But just when Nona settles down, she discovers the reason why Bouida's reaction to Ozma was revulsion: She's discovered Bouida's stash of hentai doujin of her series, which includes a great deal of a tentacle monster (Ozma) doing what tentacle monsters do. But things calm down again, as she discovered beneath the layer of hentai doujin, Bouida had prepared a marriage contract between he and Nona...which explains why she's been lazing around the house like a stereotypical anime/TV show wife (the clear implication is that the marriage certificate was prepared long before the living Nona entered Bouida's life).

And just as Nona says that since they're married, Bouida can't cheat on her, can't look at other women, either in anime or the real world, into his apartment walks a real girl.

I wasn't impressed by the first episode, but the second episode makes up for it. This was funny with a lot of meta humor. So, the addition of a new cast member really improved things. This show might actually work out.

            Episode 3

A sister's not what he needs.

So that girl is Haruto's sister Mikoto, and introducing Nona as his waifu wasn't exactly the best of ideas. So they get in the Christmas mood and it goes to show that there are two different kinds of fans there with that conversation. Next time, another live figure arrives.

              Episode 4

At the mercy of the player.

Here comes Bellnoa, who is from a 16-bit RPG as Haruto bought another figure that is alive. And once again, he's doing all sorts of creepy things to her seeing that how she is in the real world depends on her attributes in the game, and Haruto sure had a great time dressing her up and stripping her down. The show's creepiness factor just skyrocketed here.

So with that, the trial period is over, and while I got a kick out of it, unfortunately it doesn't stack up well to the other half-length shorts this season. I haven't decided on this show yet, but it's on the outside looking in.
