    Episode 12

    Enjoy color while it lasts.

The school culture festival is on, and this is the last time Hitomi gets to enjoy herself before returning to the future as she has a great time with the clubmates. She also does stuff with Yuito as the exhibit was such a huge hit. Then it ends with a grand fireworks show made possible by magic. And Hitomi is able to see the color of these fireworks as her final moment of her time in the past. It was fun while it lasted, but now it's time to go back to where she belongs. Before that, she has some unfinished business left with Yuito as there's one last thing she needs to do, and it will be interesting to see how she feels after going through all this.

      Episode 13 (Finale)

      Back to the future.

So in the end, Hitomi can see colors as from the look of things, her colorblindness was the result of a spell that she unknowingly cast on herself. It was pretty bittersweet the way things ended with Hitomi saying farewell to everybody, and then confessing her feelings with Yuito that broke that spell, and presumably he passed away given Hitomi's reaction when she visited somebody's grave at the end (it doesn't say whose grave that is, but I don't think she would react that way if it were anybody else's). Anyway, that was beautifully drawn up putting a nice wrap on Hitomi's tremendous character growth that has really carried this show.

Overall, this show is another visual marvel from P.A. Works as it made all the difference for this show that's all about colors. The animation is gorgeous, and the character development is simply amazing. While the end result was great, it did have some bumps in the storytelling aspect as it starts off really slowly and it seemingly loses sight of what this show is supposed to be about midway through, but never did it waste any time doing stuff that's not intuitive to the grand scheme of things, something that really hurt a certain other show by P.A. Works. So bottom line is that this show's animation and character growth are a sight to behold, but the storytelling could have been better as the show was paced too slowly at the beginning, all while there are times when this show's focus wavers too close to getting away from what it is trying to accomplish.
