    Episode 1

    The chase is on.

This show doesn't waste any time letting everybody know that Go Nagai is the one who created this show with a bunch of mature stuff there that was ever so present in Devilman Crybaby. The show begins with a case where Honey is tasked with stopping Panther Claw's minions at a jewelry store, but something is amiss when they only killed the hostages and not steal any of the jewelry as it was a trap to get Honey to hand over the Airborn Element Fixing Device, and the one who made the call is none other than Jill herself. Well, that didn't get exactly get off to the best of starts there being dropped smack dab into the middle of things, all while it emphasizes all the weird and creepy stuff that Nagai is known for.

So I'll give it another episode or two before deciding. While I have great interest in this show, I didn't exactly get the most favorable of first impressions.

      Episode 2

      Protect the device.

Honey's origins get explained here as she's an android created by Dr. Kisaragi, and that device that Panther Claw is after is what turns Honey into all sorts of different girls. The lab was attacked, and the doctor was killed by one of Panther Claw's soldiers protecting her, and it was after that point where Honey vowed to take down Panther Claw, as well as learn about what that device is all about. So another girl is turned into a Panther Claw minion, and this time Honey has an easy time dealing with her. That was some backstory there as it explains who Honey is and why Jill has been coming after her. But little does Honey know that Jill is a lot closer than she thinks and Seiji's son Junpei happens to have feelings for her alter-ego.

So with that, the trial continues, and this episode helps its cause. Nevertheless, I'm still undecided about this show right now.

        Episode 3

        Love thy enemy.

And now, Natsuko is getting more involved here as she goes out on a date with Genet not realizing that she's actually a sinister criminal in disguise. Shopping for clothes, she gets caught in Jill's trap where all the shoppers and salespeople are turned into mannequins. That monster thought she had Honey right where she wanted her to be, but she's just way too strong for her. In the meantime, Naoko is just nuts, first in her pursuit of Natsuko, and then Honey. Pretty solid stuff here.

So with that, I'll give it one more episode before deciding on this show. That said, I'm enjoying this show even if it has all sorts of problems and issues, so I'm leaning towards sticking with this show right now.

          Episode 4

          That's no statue.

Next case has Honey intentionally getting herself kidnapped as she transforms into Misty to make it happen, and then poses as one of Panther Claw's henchman and presenting a fake Honey to learn the location of the enemy hideout. And then Honey kicks ass, but is in a dire situation with her power running out as indicated by her sudden wardrobe malfunction. So she turns into a statue with the last of her power to shake off her pursuers, and ends up seeing Junpei and Gramps, which put Honey in another dire situation. In the end, she scared those two away. action stuff was nothing special, but the part where those two perverts climb on what they think is a well-made statue is pretty amusing.

This show has come to the end of its trial period, and while I'm not 100% sure about it, I'm strongly leaning towards keeping this show on this season's watchlist.

            Episode 5

            Armed and dangerous.

Next Panther Claw agent is Iron Shadow, who is posing as the mayor, and she has an island where she's dealing arms, as well as kidnapping girls to turn into mannequins. This time, Honey unleashes two more forms to get to the bottom of things, as well as to serve as a flight attendant. Junpei and gramps somehow sneak onto the plane, but it's a good thing they did since being perverted ended up being the difference. And of course, Honey was unstoppable as she managed to tame those animals in the circus. Genet never came, and Honey still doesn't know why.

              Episode 6

              These roses have thorns.

And Jill makes her move attacking the school as that was supposed to be a hiding place for Honey, but with Honey all too trusting of her alter-ego Genet, it was only a matter of time before it happened. And that was quite brutal seeing all of her friends slaughtered and turned into roses, right before Honey's eyes, and it's thanks to Naoko that she and Natsuko were able to escape. Quite a dramatic turn of events that was now that Jill has made her move to really get Honey down.

                Episode 7

                The secret is out.

After the fallout from the previous episode, Honey and Natsuko are staying at Seiji's house, which is something Junpei and gramps really like, but Honey is just in agony, and it's understandable why. And then Natsuko goes to Seiji's workplace where she realizes that something just isn't quite right about Genet as the glowers she is giving Honey as a get well present aren't exactly flowers. And then Honey reveals her secret to Natsuko seeing that she's neck-deep in this mess and that Honey can trust her with her secret identity. Pretty much, it's transition time here as she needs to get in the right mindset before taking down Jill, and now she's aware that Genet isn't who Honey thinks she is.

                  Episode 8

                  Just who is she, anyway?

Now that Natsuko is onto something about Genet, she goes tracking her down to figure out her true identity, and doing so without letting Honey know about it. And she ends up getting caught by the Octopus and Tarantula. Not the best of decisions, but at least Honey was there when she needed her the most to carve up that octopus. The big reveal (as far as Honey knowing about it is concerned) is coming, but before that Honey might want to keep a better watch on Natsuko seeing that she's now being targeted.

                    Episode 9

                    Anything for a friend.

Jill's ruthlessness is on full display here as she even goes as far as to kill her own comrades in a hostage situation to get Honey to hand over that device she has so coveted as Natsuko has been captured and wrapped up in web. As much as Tarantula wants to serve Jill, even she doesn't approve of this plan and tries to save Natsuko when she's falling off a tall building. But just as Honey saved her, the other Tarantula Claw that split off goes and kills her. Just when things were going well between Honey and Natsuko, this happens, and now that Honey is aware that Genet is actually Jill that things have taken quite a turn. Just brutal that all was.

                      Episode 10

                      That's not really an advantage.

Honey is in shock after seeing Natsuko die at the hands of Tarantula's alter-ego as they split when their hearts became conflicted as one wants to protect Natsuko while the other wants to follow Jill's orders. Honey plans her revenge against Jill still not in the loop about Genet's true identity, but she doesn't exactly have a plan in place to make it happen. But she gains some unlikely allies as Tarantula's good half and Dragon Panther are helping Honey out. Pretty much, it's all about picking up the pieces here as there's just no way Honey can expect to stand a chance against Jill. Tarantula can do some transformations herself as it turns out.

                        Episode 11

The enemy was right there all this time.

And Honey now knows who Genet really is as she goes into the Panther Claw stronghold to put an end to Jill once and for all. Jill got the ball rolling when she disguised herself as one of her chimeras to get captured by Seiji, and then things just get out of hand from there. Honey just goes in blindly charging at Jill, and if it weren't for Dragon with some timely assistance, she would have been dead meat. One more episode left to go as Honey settles the score with Jill once and for all.

                          Episode 12 (Finale)

                          Rallying behind Honey.

Just when it looked like Honey was down and out, she got some help in the weirdest of ways as a lot of people showed up all disguised as Honey thanks to Tarantula's power, with Naoko among them as she survived. They were able to take down her minions after passing through the gate, and Honey has regained her power as they change outfits to the one worn in the 1994 OVA, and then Honey takes down Jill. Way to cheer up Honey there as she was about to give into despair until that happened. It's a weird way to end this, but that's Go Nagai for you.

Overall, this is a show that was made for fans of Go Nagai as they are the only ones likely to appreciate this show. On an objective front, the show just is lacking in may key areas with the biggest fault being the highly fragmented story. Other major problems are the unappealing art style, and the characters being too dense all this time to the point where it gets irritating. However, this show has some nice things going for it with solid action, a good soundtrack, the show's willingness to go outside the box, and maintaining the charm of Nagai's style. So in all, this is something only fans of the franchise can appreciate since it does lots of things wrong that doesn't exactly make it appealing to others.
