    Episode 8

    Step outside for once.

Crazy things are happening at Kirie's house that she decides to stay over with Umaru. And then Taihei tries to get Umaru out of the apartment with the summer festival that turns into a group outing as the friends tag along. While bugs and all those other stuff are reasons for Umaru to stay home, her friends certainly got her going. And then there's Hikari as it was ten years ago when there were two winners for that award, which was won by Taihei and Kanau. Hikari calling Taihei big brother has certainly rubbed Umaru the wrong way. Always great to see Kirie having a big role here as she definitely was meant for Umaru. And Hikari, she's not exactly the type to make friends so easily.

      Episode 9

      Let's make memories together.

Umaru sure was making memories, and then some. First, there's Bomber's old camera that Taihei got and Umaru was pretty snap-happy about it. Then Sylphin takes Umaru to an old department store building that's scheduled for demolition soon while their usual gaming place is temporarily closed, and she wanted to make memories there before it was closed for good. Then Umaru shows she can't cook, first by causing a fire while Ebina is over using too much cooking oil, and then flipping the pancakes too soon while Hikari is over, and it turns out Hikari isn't any better letting her's burn to a crisp. And then Umaru lets the hamsters out causing a mess. Those are great memories to have as Umaru is at it once again.

        Episode 10

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

This episode is all about memories as Umaru and Sylphin sure made a lot of them together as UMR. So while Umaru prefers cola, Sylphin prefers Sbrite. They see the district change, but some things are still there like the arcade and the swan ride in the lake. Then Umaru is onto something with Hikari as she comes over every Tuesday, when Kanau is working overtime. She thinks she can outsmart her big sister, but Kanau is into her charade. And them Ebina recalls the time she first met the other girls as she's studying hard worrying that she'll flunk her exams, but of course she puts in more than enough effort so that the girls can move on up together. Pretty nice way to bring out the memories in everybody as this was all about connections.

          Re: Episode 10

Sylphin just continues to be the most danged heartwarming. I like how UMR gets to find she even has a soul mate in snacking out. Well, their relationship doesn't go far enough that they (Sylphin finding out what a pocky game is through "Yuruyuru Mosaic" Heh...) would be OK with pocky kissing. Though I kind of wish it were. Also interesting to get the sweet backstory on Sylphin's like of old style Japanese shops, and UMR actually knowing about the original for her and getting to take her.

Even though Umaru wasn't off to the best start with Hikari, I do like she has actually gotten to be soft and sympathizes with her having a hard-working older sibling who has to leave her alone at times. Kanau is quite sweet herself in how she's worrying about how Hikari is going out alone. Will be interesting to see how she reacts when she finds out it's her crush Taihei.

Another cute story of "where it all began" in Ebina. She had high hopes for the friendships she could form, even despite such a rocky beginning, and as with all of us, makes her so happy that they actually have came so far. I like it's even something that can put her mind at ease in the most nervous of times, conquering her biggest difficulty.

            Episode 11

            Everybody loves Taihei.

This episode goes to show just how much Taihei means to everybody. First, there's Kirie coming over with that custard snack much to Bomber's chagrin. Then Taihei goes shopping for stuff and runs into Kirie aspiring to be a storybook author, all while the rain has Umaru coming over with an umbrella. And everybody goes ice skating where Sylphin is like a pro at it, while Ebina and Taihei are terrible at it. And then Hikari comes over when Kanau can't cook a decent meal, and Hikari just can't get enough of Taihei's cooking. Great to see just how much they are getting along.

              Episode 12 (Finale)

To the big brother that keeps on giving.

So it ends with a holiday-themed episode here as it's all about gift giving, and especially Taihei as he has been a very helpful older brother not just to Umaru, but to Ebina and Hikari as well. While it might not be the kind of pizza Umaru had in mind, Taihei's okonomiyaki is great stuff and he invites Alex and Bomber over to enjoy it with Umaru. And Umaru goes around looking for a present for Taihei with Ebina, and they surprise him with some stuff for cooking, which will do the trick seeing that he is into cooking. Hikari's mind is on Taihei as well, and just like last year Kanau is renting a movie watching it over Christmas Eve, and Hikari notices. Then comes New Year's, and the girls are celebrating it in style with kimonos, the feast, and badminton, and while Umaru is determined to save up her New Year's allowance, for her that's too hard to do as she spent it all quickly before she knew it. Quite a nice ending here as once again all sorts of crazy things are happening. But it goes to show just how much Taihei means to everybody.

Overall, this show continues to be funny and great to watch. The humor isn't as good as the first season, but I like that this season is more focused on the characters rather than focusing on Umaru's otaku habits as that made for a richer story that isn't so one-dimensional like the first season is. This works out better than in the first season. Other than that, it pretty much retains all the good and not-so-good things from the first season.
