    Episode 1

She's the woman of the match.

It's so great to be back with this show as once again, the comedy is amazing. The first half is a reminder of what Umaru's lifestyle is: games all day, and a diet of instant ramen, potato chips, and cola while avoiding the green peppers. She's so out-of-touch with the outside world that something as simple as pulling weeds is a monumental task. And then that soccer match was really something to see there as Sylphyn sure hasn't changed being the genki girl she is. In the end, Team Umaru wins. Once again, it's great that these characters are back as I sure do miss them.

Hah, all of those students from a different class who were on Umaru's team seemed like they were a parody of something. Inazuma Eleven, maybe? It was amusing how they really stood out in any case.

But hnnnngg... was so heartwarming seeing where Sylphy got after taking UMR's advice. Even though she lost, she really got the honest admiration of her classmates. Pretty sweet to see it continuing and people are starting to talk to her in class. Not only her, but Kirie too.

After Umaru angsts over how to ask out friends, I like that it's the shy Ebina who can really give her an encouraging push, and the main four get to showing their friendship a bit more publicly on the way home from school.

:D :D Sylphy being cute as ever. Kind of interesting seeing how 'developing friendships' seems to be a focus considering how they somewhat implied that in the original series. Guess they want to firmly establish they aren't exactly 'acquaintances' or 'rivals', although I already took them being 'friends' despite not being close at the time. One of the best EDs of the season so far. Pretty fun.

Oh, the divisive character is back. I made through the first season, somehow. Umaru seems less bratty now, which is a good thing. And they introduced a crap load of new girls (including Tsuyu?). Also, the ED is adorable, desuwa.

            Episode 2

He is who she thought he was.

Taihei brings over Alex and Bomber for dinner after work, and Alex is so into anime that Umaru thinks he just might be Sylphyn's big brother not realizing that he actually is. Then Umaru goes paranoid over the missing ear pick after Taihei stepped on it, and the pain is just unbearable. Umaru goes over to Sylphyn's place as UMR, and Sylphyn's library is quite extravagant as she's determined to beat Umaru in the next exam, not realizing that Umaru is actually in front of her. Taihei could stand to have the place dirty a little bit as he's gotten too used to Umaru trashing the room. And lastly, Umaru goes to the movies with her friends to watch Detective Nacon, an obvious parody of Detective Conan. As much as Sylphyn wanted to watch the Pretty Cure movie, Umaru won out. Ebina's stomach couldn't take it anymore, but luckily it growls during a dramatic scene so nobody notices it. That was some pretty funny stuff once again, and I especially like seeing Alex so passionate about anime, as well as those references at the movies. Taihei got some more focus here, and his coworkers continue to have quirks of their own.

              Episode 3

              Let's play together.

Umaru keeps on playing, first a dating sim that Alex bought, and then a game that's so addictive that she's playing around the clock (and not just her). Just when Taihei has tamed Umaru by playing with her, the sequel comes out. Then Alex gives Kirie one of his lewd figures that she thought about throwing in the trash, but she changed her mind. Umaru freaks out over a pot of oil when Bomber comes over, and then she gets the craving for a burger after watching the NcDonald's commercial. Once again, things are pretty funny as the characters are all being crazy in their own way, whether it be Umaru playing, Ebina ordering a ton of burgers, or Kirie thinking only about being faithful to chibified Umaru as there's never a dull moment.

                Re: Episode 3

Kirie is so danged moe. One of those girls whose fierce expression has always had people misunderstanding her, but now she's gotten to be so close with the Umaru bunch (Umaru herself recognizes it in what she thinks of Ebina being able to get along with her when Bomba brings it up: don't tell Bomba he's a good guy though, really goes to his head ). Heh, and I like how her moe experience actually shows she's knows the better choice in the galge than even the supposed enthusiast Alex. Alex has gotten to be a source of irritation for her. But with how things have been for her (and how Umaru was so happy for her getting one), she can't just ignore a gift, even one which is totally distasteful for her...

Dangit, Bomba was interrupted just as he was about to say something about Kanau. I'm curious about her! Hoping she will pop up at some point (I assume so, since she's listed in Sentai's credits scroll).

Funny how the hamburger thing comes up at just the exact time I'm craving a burger myself (I won't be going to McD's though). I love how they even spoof Ronald, in a rather fittingly odd, creepy manner. But with Japan, McD's has the connotation of a high school girl friendship point, and I liked we get the heartwarming potential of that here.

                  Episode 4

                  Never stop believing in Santa.

Here is a holiday episode, and this one is much different from the one in the previous season. Sylphyn is the focus here as she has quite a fascination with Santa throughout her childhood. Of course, he isn't real, but nobody is telling her that. So everybody comes over to Sylphyn's house for a holiday party, except UMR who she has a seat saved for. Then comes New Year's and Umaru gets a gift of money, and she's wondering how she got twice as much cash when it turns out that it's for Ebina. Once again, lots of funny moments going on there, especially the part where Umaru becomes Santa as UMR to feed Sylphyn's Santa fascination.

                    Re: Episode 4

Yet more sweet signs that things have changed. Rather than spending her Christmas at home as usual, Umaru is going out with her group of friends. The absolute sweetest part of all of this is all we get with Sylphyn, though, with her having really tired herself out to set up a Christmas party at home for the group. Also what she says about what she's learned from UMR, and the backstory on where this all began... D'awwww. I do wonder if we'll finally see Sylphyn get the "UMR is Umaru" reveal this season and how she reacts to it. But it's still nice how things have progressed all around.

It's also interesting to see Taihei actually felt a little lonely about the "Umaru not being home for Christmas" bit. He actually gets a little restless when he actually has absolutely nothing to do with the usual Umaru-sitting task. The looming business trip ultimately seems to affect him more. Umaru was finally reflecting on how much Taihei had to put up with here, and was distraught about him going away, but then her learning of the relatively short length kind of dispelled that development on her end.

In any case, looks like we have some Kanau next episode. Really curious to see what we'll get with her.

                      Episode 5

Cooking with someone else in mind.

Taihei is off to Hamamatsu for a two-week business trip, but Umaru ends up going with him as the world-famous eel has her wanting to go. So she's there for a day where she meets all of Taihei's co-workers. As for the business trip, Taihei ends up working in the kitchen in a restaurant owned by Ebina's older brother Koichiro. With the way Taihei has been helping out, it's pretty clear that he has someone else in mind when cooking. So all four of the main cast has an older brother that's hard at work, with Ebina's not surfacing until now. Koichiro sure made a nice impression there. And as Taihei has come to expect, Umaru trashed the apartment while he was gone. Once again, another great episode as I like that the big brothers are the main focal point.

                        Re: Episode 5

Umaru's desire for eel couldn't be stopped. Love how she surprisingly tagged along for that, but thanks to Kanau's error, Taihei had time to sneak off with her not only to a restaurant but for also some sightseeing, and Umaru could slip back home unnoticed by the others. Interesting what we get of Kanau here, learning just how she got to be their superior when she's younger than them. Nepotism at work... but Taihei seems to have a lot of empathy with how much pressure it has put on her. Poor Kanau, we know he honestly doesn't have any romantic feelings given what he tells Umaru, and on top of that her plans to get closer over the trip didn't really bear any fruit. I'm kind of with her in hoping something happens with them. Would be interesting to see. Was amusing seeing her wedding misunderstanding when Taihei was angling for the eel restaurants.

And so it finally is confirmed that Ebina is not an odd one out as far as being an imouto goes among the main cast. We get the missing link of the oniichan puzzle up to this point. Kind of heartwarming what we eventaully get of the IT guys unexpectedly being put to work in kitchen. Haha... a chef who's apparently a runaway from his family, and also has the voice of Ryou from Food Wars. Since Taihei got his contact information, wonder if there will be something to get Ebina to meet her lost oniichan at some point.

                          Episode 6

                          She is picture perfect.

So Kirie is aspiring to be a picture book artist as she's sketching Umaru in her Komaru form. Her secret hobby leads to some really cute moments out of her. The girls decide to celebrate Girls Day by getting fitted for kimonos by Sylphyn's mother, who is an expert at kimono-fitting. Then news gets out fast about a new restaurant that after initially refusing, Umaru decides to tag along with Taihei, where they also happen to meet Ebina and Kirie. And it ends with Umaru suffering on a hot day in May without A/C, but Taihei saves the day with a fan that Bomber gave to him. Those they got a nice breeze, unfortunately it came with a mosquito bite. Once again, that was some pretty funny stuff there, and Kirie just keeps on being a great girl who can do a lot of things.

                            Re: Episode 6

Sylphyn's cultural misunderstandings are so cute, but more so how she's jealous as she gets pictures of the time when the other three wore kimonos together. It's interesting to get a reminder that Sylphyn, when it comes to the main group and not just "UMR", she's a bit of a latecomer in being a friend with all of them but really likes and wants to be a part of it. Hah, and it's great to see her mom is quite the kimono expert. It definitely looks like Sylphy inherited some quirkiness from her, as I'd expect.

Kirie is rather moe this episode too. It's nice that even seeing her talent for swimming, she actually has an even more adorable goal in wanting to be a picture book author. It's one she's really self-conscious about, but can open up to Umaru. Ebina is particularly sweet in noticing how Kirie is trying to hide something and then going all out to help her feel comfortable. Taihei is very perceptive on that point too, though his compliments to Ebina about it are not taken in the way he's intending. Heh, so danged adorable Ebina. There's adorableness to go around for pretty much all of the main girls.

Taihei really is like me when it comes to the AC/heater use. It's not entirely about the cost, but also getting too used to it if you overdo it. Nice how he had a solution where Umaru got to go to sleep comfortably. They don't wake up perfectly fine, though... Mosquitoes sure do suck.

                              Episode 7

                              Going for a ride.

Umaru and company are off to the amusement park and while it's a fun time, not so much for Kirie as things just go wrong for her from her photo for the pass, being too reliant on that horoscope stuff, and being too short for some of the rides. But in the end, Umaru is there for her. And despite being lazy and stuff, Umaru is still at the top of her class when it comes to academics, so she's getting an award. And that's where she first meets Kanau's sister Hikari, who is taking lots of AP courses and excelling in them that has Umaru thinking about taking them. Then Alex recalls how he got into anime, and Ebina recalls about why she decided to move to Tokyo as it was to meet her big brother once he makes it big there having not seen him in ten years. It's no wonder she got close to Taihei as he reminds her of big brother. Pretty nice way to expand on the characters, all while introducing Hikari, who will be the focal point of the next episode being the sister of Taihei's co-worker. Hikari's a genius, but beyond that remains to be seen.
