    Episode 11

    She has a heart condition.

As it turns out that Miharu has a weak heart, so that explains why she didn't participate in the sports festival as she realizes that intensive physical activity is bad for her heart. That collapse sure was scary, but at the very least it isn't from anything life-threatening. Nevertheless, until she has that surgery she's going to be hurting like crazy, and nobody can blame her for putting it off since her sister Misora died after surgery on her heart failed. Quite a sad situation she is in having lost her sister at an early age. She sure does have great friends there with Haruki, Towa, and Mami all coming for her. And as it turns out, it was actually Misora who gave Haruki that book. With that, there's one more episode left as it remains to be seen how the relationship proceeds now that Haruki knows all about her condition.

      Episode 12 (Finale)

      Everybody's doing their best.

So it ends with Miharu deciding to go forward with the surgery, and she becomes a couple with Haruki just hours before she goes out of town for the surgery. That was quite a nice way for everybody to throw their support for Miharu, and she's going to need it as she's still traumatized by Misora's death. Pretty sweet of Haruki to give her that book, all while he came to the convenience store one last time. So with that, a new year begins, though it never reveals whether or not the surgery was successful. It was predictable that it would end this way, but still seeing the relationship develop was nice.

Overall, this show is full of problems with the biggest ones being flat storytelling and the show unsure what it wanted to be at the beginning before settling on focusing on only the main two couples after teasing that it was supposed to tell the story about six different couples, while relegating the other four couples as just being extra stuff that really didn't do much in the story. But while the storytelling was a mess, it did a pretty good job with character development and relationship building as the main four characters are all better off than before. Not to mention, the characters themselves are pretty interesting people that had plenty of room for development, which is what this show did best. The show did get much better in the second half when it was more serious and focused, but the first half was where this show was lacking in direction. So in all, this show could have been better if it had settled in the direction early on, but the amount of hesitation just led to problems with storywriting.
