    Episode 12 (Finale)

So it ends with Sakaguchi getting a part-time job to save up for the next Comima as he ends up working as Daigo's assistant at an upcoming doujinshi event. Seeing that Daigo is a hot guy that girls are saying a lot of things about him. Nishihara just happens to drop by as well. So with that finished, Sakaguchi and Nishihara talk about how they got into BL, and then they are off to look at some more BL stuff. That was pretty amusing seeing Sakaguchi and Daigo being perceived as a real-life yaoi couple even though they are just doing business.

Overall, this show has most of the same strengths and weaknesses of a short-format series. The jokes are funny, the fudanshi fandom is pretty interesting, and the characters are pretty quirky to make this worth watching. On the negative side, the animation quality is terrible, the jokes would sometimes bomb hard, and there's just too much fragmentation even by standards for a short. That said, it was interesting to learn about how fudanshis think.

It's Valentine's Day, and that means chocolate-giving craziness. Except that Nakamura didn't get chocolates from a girl, but a girl's accessory instead. As for Sakaguchi, he receives conveni-bought chocolates from Nishihara. When it comes to BL, crazy things do happen on Valentine's Day.

It's New Year's Day, and the club meets up with Reiji's little sister Yukari, and she's really cute, especially with that miko outfit. Yukari made such a strong impression on the clubmates and is the type of girl whose fujoshi prospects are promising. Then that talk about money is really funny as they think of New Year's as the time to blow their money when it really applies to Comima for those guys.

It's Halloween, and that means costumes. For a fujoshi, nothing is more like a dream come true than the sight of boys cross dressing, which is exactly what Nishihara got there. Those boys are something to say the least. And then they go carving pumpkins finding them tough to cut. Just another case of things getting out of hand with these guys.

"Wait! That's just going to confuse things so stop." But what's the problem with Sakaguchi getting into some yuri-shipping? For a show that with its premise feels like it could be rather open-minded, instead often seems to want to go in the opposite direction with remarks like that.

Sakaguchi has just found himself a girlfriend. He's totally going for it not realizing that this girl happens to be Toricchi in trap mode. Things were going quite well there as far as this yaoi relationship, but Ueda had to spoil the mood. These boys sure are scatterbrained when it comes to this kind of stuff seeing that their love for BL is what is driving them making for some extremely awkward moments.

Summer vacation has come to an end, and while Sakaguchi is quite happy with the way he spent his vacation after going to Comima to get lots of BL doujinshi, everybody else did other things as one went to the beach, and another went to a festival. And Sakaguchi responds by saying that he bought a BL doujinshi that has a beach and a festival in them. And while Nakamura blew his budget on an expensive pair of shoes, Sakaguhi and Nishihara opted to blow their cash on some LE doujinshi. These guys sure are crazy when it comes to money.

It's summer, and that means heading out to Comiket to buy doujinshi. Well, not exactly as here, it's known as Comima. But nevertheless, the pain of braving the lines and the blazing heat is something Sakaguchi and friends will have to do if they wants to get what they came for. There's that, and the quirkiness of being a guy buying BL stuff as well. In the end, he got what he came for, but having others know about his BL-loving self when the bag ripped led to some awkward moments. That was quite a long day.

Shiratori sure can cook, as well as cook up a scheme to get Sakaguchi to wash the dishes. Then comes Reiji and he's quite a troublesome fellow to deal with seeing that he just got dumped by his girlfriend and hasn't bothered to find a replacement. But that would make for a great yaoi opportunity seeing that girls just aren't for this guy.

Here, there's talk about seme and uke here, and Sakaguchi ended up having the role of the uke, or the more feminine of the yaoi pairing, that leads to him mentioning Toshiyuki Morikawa, which was bleeped out. Then there's Toricchi and Nakamura putting on a bizarre BL display. Sakaguchi has quite a group of nice friends there, especially with Nishihara seeing that he's going out with her to buy BL comics, something that's not exactly pleasant for him as he just doesn't feel right buying that kind of stuff all by himself. These people sure aren't afraid to express their BL fandom.

Sakaguchi sure is one crazy guy there buying multiple copies of the same manga so he can get the exclusive limited edition bonus items that are only found at certain shops. I wonder how he has all that money to waste on such purchases. And while all of his BL-crazy friends are guys, he meets a fujoshi who happens to go to the same school in Nishihara. That was quite an achievement for somebody like him to get a girl to finally exchange cell phone numbers with.

And more friends get introduced here as Sakaguchi meets Shiratori and Ueda bonded by their passion for fujoshi material. They end up having a mixer with Shiratori hitting on the girls and standing out. It's such a crazy life that Sakaguchi is living, and that was quite funny to see these boys being so rotten to the core like that, especially with Shiratori acting all playboy.

    Isn't homophobia hilarious?

Ugh, that was a sickening way to start a series. At least the rest of it was fine enough, and if they do depict being proud to enjoy BL as a male, gay or straight, positively, it could have a decent heart, but unsurprisingly a three-minute gag show is not going anywhere, and those other aspects make it particularly bad.

Sakaguchi sure does love his BL stuff, but he doesn't go dressing up as a girl much like what Hato of the new generation Genshiken did. It was a pretty nervous moment there for him to buy that BL manga, but in the end he's making friends with others who are into the fujoshi culture. Anyway, that was an amusing enough way to spend three minutes.
