  • Ova 2

I have bought the limited edition of Volume 9 of the Bakuon!! manga, and the limited edition has the second Bakuon!! OVA DVD as the appendix.
The title 'Bakuon!!' was written in katakana on the package of the limited edition, and the katakana style of 'handwriting' of the title 'Bakuon!!' on the package is a parody of how the title 'Kirin', which is a well-known manga by Harumoto Shōhei about motorcycles, was written on its dust jackets. (Usually, The title 'Bakuon!!' is printed in hiragana on the Bakuon!! manga's dust jackets.)

Via an ESP-like way, Lime-senpai has perceived that Minowa Hijiri is in a fix. It reinforces the theory that Lime-senpai is a supernatural being or something.

The OVA 2 has a scene which is a reference to The Great Escape, but Chapter 40 of the Bakuon!! manga, which the OVA 2 is based on, doesn't have the Great Escape scene.

thanks for this, kijakusai. Wished OVAs/bundled LEs were released in Blu-ray, but it's always fun to hear about the zany characters. Hopefully these are included with the domestic release, as well as all the trivia you highlighted throughout the episodes.

I, too, hope a North American publishing firm and home video company will release the Bakuon!! manga and anime.

Yes, part of the fun of reading/watching Bakuon!! arises from trivia such as 'This is a reference to a 70s oldie manga.'
It would be nice if the English edition and version have notes about those things.

If you want to enjoy more adventures of those motorcycle-club girls, since you read Japanese and are knowledgeable about things Japanese, it may be not a bad idea to purchase the Japanese edition of Bakuon!! manga and read them. ^_^

An important character in the second Bakuon!! OVA is a maid.
Orimoto Mimana, the creator of Bakuon!!, also wrote and illustrated the Maid in Japan manga before.

In Volume 8 of the Bakuon!! manga,

Spoiler ->Black Lime-senpai, who rode Kawasaki Z2, challenged Lime-senpai. Black Lime-senpai said to Lime-senpai, 'Are you still playing with human beings?' Meanwhile, Jesus told Hané a biblical story in which angels who wore motorcycle helmets appeared. When there was a phone call for Black Lime-senpai from someone, Black Lime-senpai thought it was from Mīkhāʼēl or Gavri'el. Black Lime-senpai also mentioned the Day of Judgment. It suggests that Lime-senpai is an angel.

While Lime-senpai wears a sailor-fuku, Black Lime-senpai wears a blazer. Sailor-fuku and the blazer are two typical uniforms of Japanese school girls.

The low-price edition Bakuon!! Blu-ray Disc box set will be released on August 19 in Japan, and this low-price Blu-ray Disc box set will include two Bakuon!! OVAs, which were appendices to limited-edition Bakuon!! manga tankobon in Japan.
