It's the same cover as the first single volume from the Bandai release.

Yeah, that was my thought as well. A little underwhelming given it has been used before and the background is just a plain blueish tint.

Not even remotely impressive after seeing the Japanese set.

I suspect the singles route is down to Japan themselves forcing them to it BUT the lack of stuff included in this set and the totally uninspired artwork on offer is really disappointing.

I got it, I don't know I feel right now about buying into Aniplex's Singles model:

At the very least, Aniplex is making their singles presentable even if they are outdated by American standards, and especially for a show that has been out for years already.

Looks decent enough but not a shot I'd ever pay that price for 5 eps.

This, especially not without a box to hold them. I still love the design of Bandai's box for the singles.

I might have said this before, but I'm perfectly happy with my Japanese BD BOX. Nothing comes close to it.

And even with a box to hold them, Aniplex releases one with every installment rather than a single box to hold them all like what everybody else does.

They established this precedent with Madoka years ago. Obviously Aniplex thought releases like that were a good idea since people actually went out and bought them.
