    I went with:
Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail (Blu-ray / DVD Combo) - Roberta in a BA pose ready to fight, excellent use of art.
Eureka Seven: AO (Astral Ocean), Part 1 (Blu-ray / DVD Combo Reg & LE) - AO composed and accepting his role, and cool mechs plus explosions. Nicely done.
Guilty Crown, Part 1 (Blu-ray / DVD Combo Reg & LE) - Shu and Inori doing their GC thing. Simple but potent.
Sword Art Online LE Blu-ray Box Set I: Aincrad Part 1 - Excellent composition of the main characters and stunning backgrounds.
The Garden of Words (DVD, Blu-ray) - Really bold and vibrant environment creating a surreal feeling around the characters.

Overall, lots of excellent cover arts this month, probably because there's equally a good number of stellar titles in this crop as well.

Adroc Thurston - "Don't beg for things. Do it yourself, or else you won't get anything."
Anemone - "So many faces looking like they're thinking even though they're not. So disgusting."

      01. The Garden of Words (DVD, Blu-ray)
      02. Sword Art Online LE Blu-ray Box Set I: Aincrad Part 1
      03. Guilty Crown, Part 1 (Blu-ray / DVD Combo Reg & LE)
      04. Eureka Seven: AO (Astral Ocean), Part 1 (Blu-ray / DVD Combo Reg & LE)
      05. Lupin the Third - The Woman Called Fujiko Mine: Complete Collection (Blu-ray / DVD Combo Reg & LE)

An absolutely gorgeous shot fitting of Shinkai's latest constantly-beautiful masterpiece and a bunch of strong pieces to cover artboxes with, especially in the case of the special SAO artwork and Guilty Crown, a visually spectacular enough series to warrant a couple of nice big artbooks inside that wonderfully thick set. Honestly a bit harder for me than most months other than the Garden of Words, but still some definite strong images to choose from.

Re: Vote for the best cover arts of August 2013!

            1. The Garden of Words (DVD, Blu-ray): One of Sentai's best cover arts yet. It helps that the show itself is absolutely gorgeous, and the cover really captures that, too. That, and I'm a sucker for plant-based sceneries.

            2. Sword Art Online LE Blu-ray Box Set I: Aincrad Part 1: I'm not interested in buying this release, but I can't deny how fantastic the cover art and all the other packaging elements are.

            3. Lupin the Third - The Woman Called Fujiko Mine: Complete Collection (Blu-ray / DVD Combo Reg & LE): I love the art style on this release. One of the more unique cover arts out there, in a way that really works for the nature of the show.

            4. Daily Lives of High School Boys: Complete Series Premium Edition (Blu-ray): Obligatory NISA release, though not one of their better ones. Still very good, with an amusing image for the front and a nice group shot on the back, as well as everything else in the packaging.

            5. Guilty Crown, Part 1 (Blu-ray / DVD Combo Reg & LE): Another show I have absolutely no interest in, but I have no guilt voting for on the basis of the very nice art used around this release.
            Still alive and lurking.
